Bostitch Vertical Electric Pencil Sharpener, 1 Hole, Black, EPS5V-BLK

This thing has held up since I bought it a few months ago. It sharpens extremely quickly, less than 3 seconds, with perfect symmetry around the lead. Is heavy duty and feels substantial when you hold it, not cheap or flimsy. It will probably last forever.

We got tired of using small hand-held sharpeners and finally broke down and got an electric. This works very well. Just give the pencil a small twist while it sharpens to make sure it's even all the way around. Takes up less space thanks to its vertical design.

I used this in my science classroom. Worked great - even on colored pencils (which are notorious for jamming up pencil sharpeners). The sound it makes isn't too loud, so the classroom disruption factor isn't too out of hand. It lasted a full year before a student was able to jamb it up - easily fixed though with a little patience and a paperclip (I went full MacGyver on it).

I do a lot of colouring with coloured pencils. The sharpener is great because it can sharpen too many different points. I use the daily and I love the fact that it's got a big barrel so I don't have to empty it all the time

This is my favorite pencil sharpener. For 5 years, I had no problems. It was great but will not stand a chance if someone tries to sharpen an eraser. This is my second purchase of this item.

Good product. This is the second one I have. One for me, one for my granddaughter. We use them frequently. They are still going strong after a couple years.

So far it sharpens well, but goodness if it isn't the loudest pencil sharpener ever. It sounds like it's trying to grind itself apart while screaming the entire time you use it. For homeschool it's ok, but I can't imagine a workplace or school room using it.

The sharpener lasted about a year. It wore out after normal use much faster than expected and couldn't attempt to fix or sharpen it. Replacing it the next year. The motor was low quality for normal rate of usage and would “whine” when trying to use after 6-12 mo of typical usage.

I got this because it's a known brand.... It literally will not sharpen anything. Not even a little bit. The $7 one I got at dollar tree works better.

I got this to replace the cheap handheld ones that just kept dulling, but I'm using Ticonderoga pencils, which I always thought to be the supreme and superior brand, but it's eating them up. I cannot get this sharpener to give me a good point, even with varying pressure.
