Botan Ame Rice Candy, 0.75 oz

This is one of those candies that makes me smile because I've been eating it since I was a kid, and now my daughter loves it too. It's fun sharing something from my childhood that still holds up. If you've never had Botan rice candy before, the coolest part is the edible wrapper — you don't peel it off. It dissolves when you eat it, which always surprises people the first time. The candy itself has a light citrus flavor and a soft, chewy texture that's different from typical gummies or hard candy. My daughter thinks the little sticker inside each box is a bonus, and I love that it's something a little unique compared to the usual sweets.

An old school candy from Japan. It's very tasty and very difficult to find. It's relatively inexpensive to boot!

My favorite candy, been eating it all my life and I don't like sweets. Soft, chewy with edible inner wrapper. Subtle flavor, almost floral, not dominating on the palate at all. Would recommend highly.

I was happy to see this product. I had a babysitter who used to give me these as a treat. I thought is was cool that I could eat the paper. Thanks for the blast from the past.

This candy was rock hard. I was wondering how fresh it was. I have purchased this product many times and it was always soft and chewy. I bought four packs of five and everyone of them more like hard candy than the soft and chewy that my kids love.

my order was not fulfilled completely. they replaced 2 items with something totally different. And out of the 4 i ordered, i received 2, and out of the 2 1 was already opened, unwraped, and had pieces missing from the box. poor hiring process for the people chosen to do the shopping correctly. unreliable and not trustworthy. Then the reusable bag they chose was not only the one i wanted but there was a used hairnet inside. disgusting see pics.

I ate these all the time as a kid too, so I was excited to find them online and try them again. The package is very hard to open — especially for arthritic fingers. There is no expiration date stamp, but the candy is hard and not easy to chew. I think these are old. I will not purchase them again.

Would give negative if I could. Candy was hard and stale. Save your money order them from Amazon.
