Brasso Metal Polish, for Brass, Copper, Stainless, Chrome, Aluminum, Pewter & Bronze, 8 Oz

I'm new to using Brasso and polishing brass, and I've learned that if a piece is heavily tarnished, it can take hours of elbow grease unless you're using a drill with a brush attachment or similar tool. Before starting, I found it helpful to soak the item in hot water for 15–20 minutes to help loosen buildup. Be sure to wear disposable gloves, as Brasso can be very drying and irritating to your skin. The smell also intensifies as the chemical reaction occurs, so work in a well-ventilated area. I applied a generous amount to the wet item, massaged it in, and let it sit for a bit. Then I used a magic eraser along with a microfiber cloth to gently rub and scrub the surface. This method left zero scratches. After many hours of working and reworking different areas, the results are beautiful. There may be more efficient methods or products out there, but if Brasso is all you have, you can absolutely achieve great results with some patience and persistence.

I have a copper range hood and copper facing on my wall cabinets. This is the only product I have found that cleans and shines them. I must say, it is easy to use, but time consuming. Wipe it on, wipe it off. And I am not crazy about the smell. It is not a horrible smell, but it is strong. I will keep buying it because it works!

I used this to polish an old brass shoe that was my mother's. It was fairly easy to use and worked well. I applied it with a cloth, rubbed it in, and used another soft cloth to polish it. The shoe looks wonderful now and it's a nice addition to my shelf.

Excellent product. Used on brass. Instantly removed tarnish, stains. I was amazed. Left a nice shine. The odor however, is strong. You need to be careful breathing while using this Brasso. I suggest using it outside. Or at least in a well ventilated area. Has a serious ammonia oder. But it really works.

This stiff is the REAL deal! But be prepared to use some elbow grease! You will have to put some physical work in to remove the tarnish. To get the desired shine. You will need an old towel or rag. Because it removes the tarnish big time. You won't be able to use that towel again. Also, the smell of the product is a little strong! But it DEFINITELY works!!

I don't usually go out of my way to review a product. Brasso worked very quickly on my copper bottom Revere Ware. make sure the copper is dry. Use a 3m type scrubber. Rub it into the surface and let it sit for a moment. Then give it a little extra elbow grease on the tough spots and you end up with this...It works on other metals too. My first picture is what it looked like to begin with but a different pot. The second is the after. It has been years since I went to the effort to polish these pans because of the effort needed. Each pan I own is going to get this treatment the next time they are used! Thanks Brasso!

My husband and I use this all the time. We have a few pieces of copper and brass that will get dingy over time. This stuff makes them look brand new! We've used it a lot in the Army when it came time to shine our insignia and they always sparkled! We love this!! Thank you!

Brasso has been the gold standard for a century, and there's a reason it's still around. It works. Yes, it takes effort, but nothing else brings brass back to life the way Brasso does. I've been using it since my high‑school ROTC days sixty years ago, and it's never let me down. If the brass is heavily tarnished, a quick five‑minute soak in a citric‑acid-and-water solution loosens the worst of it. After that, Brasso does what only Brasso can. There's simply no substitute for a real brass polish and, as my mother used to say, a little elbow grease.
