Very attractive and unique piece. Not sure how much weight it would support, but if all you need is light support for balance, this will work fine and look terrific. It is lightweight however. If you need to lean a lot of weight on a cane, you should consider something more mundane, like a standard metal cane. If you are going to get this cane, Walmart has the best price.

Very nice, just what I wanted, a cane with character!

The walking stick came with a card from the actual artisan, that was a nice touch! The cane is lightweight but sturdy. I use it mainly because of the dogs I occasionally encounter on my walks, it gives me a little stability and a sense of security. Well made and nice looking. I am 5' 4" and the size is fine for me, though knowing I can adjust it if I feel the need is a nice feature.

I know that each of these be a bit different, but I got very lucky with mine. The root that forms the handle on it curves in a way that gives me a perfect ergonomic grip. Just a happy accident. It's a beautiful stick, using a piece of wood that is quite close to straight, and crafted using the natural beauty of the piece they selected. The one jarring note is entirely my fault; I had my initials engraved, but on actually seeing it, I think it would be prettier without them. The standard sizes they offer would be too long for me, but Brazos trimmed this to 34.5 inches on my request. You just have to put it in the comments section or give them a call. It's lightweight, my shortened one is 13 3/8 oz. but it seems very strong. Certainly it's strong enough for any support I need during normal use. I don't really want to find out if it will work for self defense, but I think it might.

I am so happy with this cane! After breaking my hip this winter, I was recently given the go ahead to move to a cane and so many canes out there were either boring or way too expensive. This cane is unique, interesting and beautiful and the price is reasonable as well. And the free shipping was a nice bonus! I've been using the cane now for a week and it is perfectly functional as well, I find the handle quite comfortable and it is plenty strong. Highly recommend this cane!

I had found my first Natural Hardwood Root Cane in a local hardware store and was intrigued by it. I purchased the cane for my mother's birthday and she loved it. After recovering recently from back surgery, I ordered a second cane on line for myself. I was concerned it wouldn't be as beautiful as the one I got earlier but it was. Although unique, I am extremely satisfied with this root cane. It fits my large hands perfectly and I cut it down to a perfect length. There's an a natural power and beauty inherent in the root of a tree. Brazos created a functional work of art, right from nature. Please tell me the name of the tree my cane was made from. I had some special requests, and I was very pleased with the walking stick I received. It's more for potential defense against bad 2 and 4 legged animals, and I think it's about perfect for the job. Light weight, comfy in the hand, and as tough as a tree root, which of course it is!! It's now a constant companion for me and my shorkie when we are out and about!! Thanks Brazos!

If you're over 6'3”, the cane is just too short. Brazos used to sell a 40” can that could be trimmed if needed. Unfortunately , that is no longer available
