This Briggs and Stratton Lawn Mower oil is the correct product to use when servicing their engines. It is the correct blend and viscosity oil to insure proper lubrication of your engine. There less expensive oils out there however can you really be sure they are the correct spec to use safely? This oil is a little pricy for the volume you get in the bottle but it's worth the cost to insure you are getting the proper protection.
It gets the job done, used it for years without any issues. Im sure there is better out there of course, didn't know that during extreme hot temperatures its actually suggested to use a different kind of oil, learnt that while reading a manual to a new tractor. Taste a little funny though would not suggest eating food after getting some on your hands, unless the food was sour prior.
I can't tell you how nice it is to have a small engine oil in the proper size to be able to just dump and go with the Briggs and Stratton engines when it's time for annual maintenance. For those who don't know, small engine oil is different then regular engine oil as it is designed to tolerate higher heat as the engines are air cooled and has more anti wear additives like zinc. Using the correct oil while greatly extend the life of any engine.
This is best for small engines seeing seasonal use such as lawn mowers and other small engines. If you are in a cold climate and use the small engine year round, use 5w-30w synthetic. This gets gummy during the winter and is good for keeping your cylinder walls coated with a thin oil layer for long periods of storage, it does not promote easy starting due to those same properties.
I purchased a l lawn mower that stated you don't need to change the oil, just top it off as it burns off. A couple years later the oil was still at a correct level but looked rough so it was time to go against what the manufacturer was pushing and change the oil. This stuff worked great
Needed oil for my mower and found it here at a good price. Lots of choices out there but got an excellent price and didn't leave the house together it.
I've been using this oil in my gear tractor for 15 yrs and it still runs like new. B%26S sae 30 oil is top quality oil for small engines. I change it every 40 hrs. Runs quiet and smooth.
Perfect for my Troy Bilt horse riding lawnmower. You'll need 2 for a complete oil change will a little left over in the second bottle for top offs if you need to
picked up 4 bottles for 13.91 when it was on sale. 2 bottles for my guns for probably the rest of my life, and 2 bottles for my mower. thanks briggs and stratton!
I purchase this for my Briggs and Stratton motor in my lawn mower. It's just the right amount for my mower. My mower runs smooth. It never smokes. And I only change it at the most, 3-4 years. So it must be doing its job well.
