Brother Genuine TN229BK Standard Yield Black Toner Cartridge

Liked that part of my order arrived earlier than expected, disliked it was placed on top of my trash can and not delivered to my door about 25 feet away from that. We only use Brother toner to go with the Brother printer. They are easy to change.

I misread the description and thought it was the xl but this is fine and works. Will read more closely in the future

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I go through black ink the most as a teacher, so durability really matters. This toner arrived in secure packaging that kept everything clean. Installation was super simple, and I loved that there was zero mess—I didn't get any toner on my hands or inside the machine. The print consistency is excellent. Black text comes out sharp, bold, and without streaking. I was actually waiting for this toner to arrive, but since I needed it quickly for class copies, I had to buy one in store first—still happy to test this one because it performs well. The yield is solid, especially for everyday worksheets, parent notes, exit tickets, and routine classroom printing. Very durable, minimal waste, and definitely dependable for teachers who print a lot.

My Brother printer rejects Brother toner sold for that model number. Brother admits the problem is its fault yet refuses to help me in any way. I have lost hundreds of dollars. The cause is that Brother deliberately -- and secretly -- makes identical model numbers from different places incompatible. Their "support" just tells me to buy another printer from them. Ha.
