Brother HL-L3280CDW Wireless Compact Digital Color Printer with Laser Quality Output, Duplex and Mobile Printing & Ethernet

3rd version of the L3000 series for us.

Really nice printer. Bought it to be able to print my own business labels. Color looks really good and setup was easy.

I have always trusted Brother for their high-quality products, so I didn't hesitate to purchase the Brother HL-L3280CDW Wireless Compact Digital Color Printer from Walmart. To my surprise, the initial unit I received started printing long black lines down every page right out of the box. I contacted customer support and went through various troubleshooting steps, including receiving a new black toner cartridge, but the issue persisted. It became clear that the printer was defective. However, Brother's exceptional customer service turned this negative experience around. They promptly arranged an exchange for a new unit, which works flawlessly as expected. The replacement printer delivers crisp, clear prints, and the wireless functionality is seamless. While the initial hiccup was disappointing, Brother's commitment to standing by its products and ensuring customer satisfaction is commendable. They made things right without hassle, reinforcing my confidence in the brand. This experience warrants a full five-star rating, as it highlights not only the quality of their products but also their dedication to customer care. I highly recommend the Brother HL-L3280CDW printer to anyone in need of a reliable and high-performing color printer.

Brother makes a good printer, but they require their own toner cartridges for replacement (they are proficient at detecting and rejecting non-Brother cartridges). The Brother cartridges are crazy expensive though, and sometimes it's easier to junk the printer and replace it with a new one. That may be good economics but is really bad for the environment.

Beautiful machine, fast, easy setup but it draws so much power on start-up that it immediately throws the Arc Fault Circuit Breaker to my office so that I have to plug it in in another room that doesn't have such a breaker; using a large extension cord. Firmware is up-to-date. Suggested solutions useless so far. Annoying.

Unfortunately, this printer that was sold through Walmart ended up being bad and it was a 220 V printer instead of 110 V printer. It was always erroring out. I had to take it to an authorized reseller and they found out that it was not even a US printer Therefore it was not even covered under warranty or even fixable. I would hope in the future that vendors that sell through Walmart would ensure products work in the country they ship to, such as the US. You can see by the Serial number it should start with a U for US.

Printer does not work. Have to cycle thru errors every time I need to print something. I contacted Brother support and they said that the toner cartridges that came in the box with the printer are counterfeit. They won't replace them. Horrible experience all the way around.

The installation instructions are out of date. WINDOWS PROTECTED PRINTER FEATURE has screwed up linking the printer to your WIFI. It took 2 hours of trying different ways to finally get it hooked up.

It was a nightmare installation process. Expect to waste dozens of printed pages and many hours to get the Duplex printing to work. Even Gemini 3 and Chat GPT weren't able to troubleshoot.
