Bigger than I thought it would be. However, compared to hassles with the setup of previous printers I have purchased this was so simple. I did not have to do anything for setup as it was completely done by the technology within the printer. Quiet and smooth printing.
I bought this a couple of months ago due to hindsight we will be going into another lockdown, schools will be closed and I'll have school paper work coming out of my ears. We had a none laser printer and sick of having to replace the ink so often after using it so little or far between but this machine really does last even after all the arithmetic test papers and story board templates this machine has run a dream. The quality of ink is good and the machine is easy to use and set up once it's connected to the WiFi. You can use pretty much any device connected on the network to print, so if laid in bed at 7am I can print out mass worksheets ready for the day ahead or on a weekend keep the child busy while I get some extra Zs at silly o clock. So I'd say great overall purchase for price and quality and useability.
My wife has start a small startup and we currently have an old HP laser printer that does well, but it is not equipped with wifi and we needed something with wifi and color. It took a couple of minutes to figure our the apple airprint, but once that was done, it is a breeze to operate. we are pleased with the printer so far.
As with most reviews it should be born in mind that this printer is still new and should be working as described. It seems really good value for money, I am using it in my home/office and it is ideal for my basic printing requirements. I am sure there is still plenty to learn of its capabilities but at the moment I am happy I can print from both my lap top and mobile phone using wi-fi. 5 stars from me so far. :-]
I bought this printer to replace an HP printer that that broken and I'm glad I did. It is very easy to set up and to get a wi-fi connection, I had it up and working in no time. The print quality is excellent and then controls easy to operate. It seems very well made so hopefully should give many years of service. I would certainly recommend.
If your laser printer needs are relatively simple (single sided printing) and you don't care about photo quality (some banding even with highest print setting) then this will be probably the most affordable color laser printer on the planet. Also, keep in mind this is really an LED printer, and not an actual laser printer--it's basically a poor men's color laser printer--but ultimately the difference between both technologies is very minor in that it uses LEDs to print instead of lasers but both work to similar end user results. LEDs are just the less expensive way to achieve comparable results to laser. Pros: I had it up and running out of box in ten minutes, (that included un-boxing, taking packing stuff off printer (both inside printer and outside, plugging in, and downloading driver software) Relatively quiet, even when actively in use Pretty quick to print out pages, at least for any home use I can think of. Business needs may be different, but I still found the time from clicking print to page was very fast Wireless and wired connection options Wireless easy to setup. Online driver downloads and setup easy as well Cons: Banding visible in graphics or photos Seems to pull a large amount of power when in actual use, made my lights flicker--but I'm also in an older home Colors that come out don't always match the photo (example: purple sweater in photo turns out pink in print) Doesn't do double-siding printing
Bought this to replace an old Brother MFD Laser as spares and consumables were becoming hard to get. Unit is fine and works well, when I first got it the Wi-Fi connection was weak so had to keep it in same room, however have recently moved it to another room and for whatever reason its working fine. As I say, does what I need it to do, i.e. print in color. I used it to print documents and maps.
I bought this printer a few days ago. I'm going to return it. Text printing is fine, but colours and gradients are awful. My HP printer of 8 years old makes better prints than this one.
It worked briefly. Immediately started to have issues. It would not recognize new toner cartridges. Needed a work around every single time. Started to show vertical magenta lines through every document. I ended it up buying a completely different printer. The drum is faulty in this machine. I noticed the color toner went before the black. That was the beginning of the issues. Definitely not a good laser printer. I do not recommend. Also, it is extremely and unnecessarily heavy.
Have had a few months, having a lot of trouble with the unit going into sleep mode, and Brother tech support verifies you cant turn it off! They disabled the hidden menu that used to be available on their laser printers to turn off deep sleep, and mine goes into sleep mode immediately upon reboot/reset, then shortly after into deep sleep and there's nothing that will wake it up. Deep sleep knocks it offline every time, so when I use it I have to uninstall, re setup wifi and it only works until I stop. Within a minute it goes into sleep mode, unusable again. Brother support offered no solution nor warranty coverage, seller refused to take it back because its over 30 days. Clearly either a software or electronic defect in this 4 month old printer, its now trash. Yes, updated all firmware, reinstalled several times, set the time for sleep, same result. Won't buy Brother again, won't buy from this seller again. Expected better from a seller Walmart allows in their market, as well as from Brother.
