I'm so glad I bought this model print label machine. It's easy to operate and looks like a miniature typewriter. It comes with a starter roll of tape. I haven't had a chance yet to connect it to my computer but I'll be able to download more fonts and art designs. I'm totally happy with it! Now I can keep everything neatly labeled. Thanks Sam's Club!
My last label maker by Brother lasted 18 years so they are built to with stand hard use this unit has more features and is still compact enough to slip in to a drawer
The Brother P-Touch PT-D600 label printer gives options for different label widths and print styles. It provides reliable label printing and is priced right for routine office label printing.
[Employee of brother] Brother Employee & Product Owner: I've had my Brother PT-D600 for years now, and I couldn't be happier with it. I knew there might be one or two things I could use it for when I got one, but having it in my kitchen or home office (it floats between the two) keeps it top-of-mind for lots of projects I would never have thought of. I love to bake and make candy and have it out when I host friends and bring it to the office or to family events. I use my P-touch to name my creations and list out key ingredients, to know what flavor profile to expect, and to ensure anyone with allergies knows whether to partake or stay away. I'm constantly changing up the fonts and frames and adding symbols - everyone knows to expect that from my treats by now. For organizing my workspace, this model is great for me because it can also connect to the computer. I use the keyboard 90% of the time, but now and again there's a certain image/logo I'm thinking of, or I want to feed off of an existing data set without recreating it manually, and connecting the USB cord makes that easily accomplished. It's also great that this one goes up to an inch in width, so I can add a few lines of text at a time, or just have big bold images/words. I recommend this model for anyone who wants the greatest versatility in where it's being used, what's being labeled, and what design options you'll need!
works very well through computer application or directly on machine. It takes Tape sizes up to 2" wide.
If you can't get the drivers working, use the driver removal tool for this printer and reinstall. Once I did this I was able to use it on the computer. Great printer for the price!
Overall this works very well. I have used genuine Brother labels which print perfectly. I have mixed experience with third party labels. While significantly less expensive, the quality varies. I also use this printer connected to my Macbook Pro to print LEGO labels. This also has had mixed results. If the label is on the longer side, 6+ inches, it tends to not printer properly. But this has been a reliable label printer overall.
Any custom templates you make will just be glorified pictures with no user input fields. They are no longer templates when uploaded to the machine. Negating the keyboard and the word "Template" all together. The fact that its placed in the "Auto Format" category makes this FALSE advertising. The provided templates for cable management are terrible and big and does not allow for smaller label tapes. Not suitable for cabling.
Product did not turn on - neither with batteries nor connction to pc. Had to return the item. Also there is no support on line and no LIVE (online) CHAT as mentioned on the card supplied with the product.
Upgraded from Windows 10 64bit to Windows 11 and now my PTD600 Label Printer will not work. I continuously get USB error messages and Brother has done nothing to issue a printer driver specifically for Windows 11.
