Brother Wireless DCP-L2640DW Compact Monochrome Multi-Function Laser Printer with Print, Copy and Scan, Duplex and Mobile Printing

This is an excellent home printer with good speed and great quality. Of copies. the wireless feature makes it incredibly Convenient. list printer would be sufficient for a small office as well as a home. haha highly recommend.

I have used Brother products in the past (my first printer was a Brother). This was a Mother's Day gift to my 81 year old mom for her genealogy work and my many PDFs. After watching many reviews on YouTube, I can honestly say this is the easiest printer I have ever set up in my life. 5 mins or less direct to PC (I had my own printer cable) not included in the box. I did not want it on wifi and I 100% do not want tracking by other companies and constantly entering info to use those printers such as HP and others that also run very bloated software IMO. The software was extremely easy to download and use, step-by-step instructions on the Brother web site. Important: This printer also scans from the glass and that was important for personal photographs etc. and duplex printing (Paper Cost Saving) Automatic Document feeder. This is a black and white printer: TONER BASED not ink jet crap! This printer was bought due to Brothers Reputation of Quality and Longevity, other Products owned in the past and ease of Software install and *ease of use for my elderly mom. I Highly recommend this printer. TY Brother fan for life.

It is fairly simple as far as multi function printers go, the original toner cartridge ran out at about 1/2 a ream of paper but the good news is it does seem to play well with after market toner cartridges..a major concern for other printer manufacturers. I’m quite happy with this printer.

Printer arrived next day via FedEx. Wifi setup was a tad tiring. I finally figured out I could do it entirely from the app (save for occasionally needing to push a button on the printer) instead of fiddling tediously with the up/down buttons on machine to enter the wifi pw - but even from app it seemed a little more complicated than necessary, and timed out a few times during connecting. But in the end got it done. So don't give up. lol I've printed out a few docs so far, and all came out perfect. It prints fast, and can print on both sides of paper. I bought this printer, after doing some research, to replace the frustratingly sorry as can be Epson inkjet printer that constantly needed cartridges replaced, and then either left blank spaces or ink blots on printouts. I already like this brand new Brother laser printer 1000% more than the old Epson inkjet. I only occasionally need to print anything, and my understanding is that laser printers that use toner cartridges are much better suited for such use. Fingers crossed! This printer only prints in black and white (thus the "monochrome"), but that is perfect for my needs. To help with setting up, especially with installing the toner cartridge, a youtube video was a big help and easier for me to follow than the diagrams. Look for the 9 minute 14 seconds video titled Brother DCP-L2640dw Setup, Install Toner, WiFi Setup, Copy, Print %26 Scan Test that has over 57k views. There are other good videos but I found that particular one the most helpful. If photo comes through, printer is on a 16.5 x 16.5 in table. Oat bar on top for scale.

You and amazon were the same price. One of you should have been cheaper. I'm Satasfied with the product but I've only had it for 1 week. My last printer lasted 13 years on one toner cartridge, so the bar is high.

I dislike that Mac OS Monterey does not print by default, like Catalina did. I also dislike it not including an installation disk, because satisfying Apple can be time consuming on older Mac minis. I removed a star because of the missing installation disk.

I will never purchase another Brother product again. The first one was defective and dealing with their customer service was maddening. The second one they sent me set up easily but does not work like it should. I spent three days trying to get ahold of their tec. support and when I finally did they told me to look up the solution on You tube. I finally gave the product away and purchased the equivalent HP.

I have had virtually the same printer for the past 10 years or more and purchased this one tp replace %26 upgrade. I'm sure the printer is high quality because I've never had a problem with Brother products. Unfortunately this one is the exception to the rule. Setup instructions take you down false trails and lead to the message "an unexpected error has occurred." Then you start over. If you follow the instructions, you have to press the scroll key 15 to 45 times per character to enter the password for wifi when Press To Setup (PTS) is available. I had to start over when the password was incorrect. Installing the drivers fails if you follow directions, I still haven't figured out how to get past that one. It's like having a Rolls Royce sitting in your driveway, and no way to even open the door. I do NOT recommend this printer.

This printer is 1 star at best. its 2026, not 1955! no drivers, scan functions dont work. lucky if i can get it to print on a good day....BROTHER SINKS

Can't figure out how to use some functions or access manual online or contact customer service. It's ridiculous. Also, very large and heavy
