Brother XM2701 Lightweight, Full-Featured Sewing Machine with 27 Stitches

I bought it for my daughter in law because she wanted to learn to sew. I was very pleasantly surprised at how quickly she learned to sew. great product for beginners!

I couldn't believe my luck when I spotted this online - sewing machines are harder to find than gold at the end of the rainbow these days. And Brother has a great reputation for durability and service. It was also delivered fast. The self threading needle will be a huge bonus for my eyes - once I figure it out! Love the reverse switch above the needle area. And the 3 dials on top are really more than I need right now to make masks, but will be useful for other sewing later. I learned on a simple Singer as a kid, so the bobbin/threading are very different to me, but the manual and QuickStart and DVD give clear steps to get started fast. So happy with my purchase!

My 14 year old machine gave out. I read and researched for a reasonably priced machine and this model kept coming up. On YouTube mask tutorials, I noticed that some listed links for items used in their tutorial. This model was linked on many of them. So, having made my decision I thought I could just order one. Looking for a sewing machine during a viral pandemic was looking bleak. I happened to recheck Walmart online again and one popped up and I grabbed it! The expected delivery date was 2 weeks but at least I had one. It was delivered through Tech Mate Deals. I was ecstatic that it arrived in 3 days!! This machine works great, easy to use. Instructions came on a DVD but is on YouTube too. I am extremely happy with my machine and delivery service!

I am the first time of using sewing machine in my life. I watched the dvd and learned for an hour. After that I fixed my pants. More practice is better but it's easy to use. My husband uses a sewing machine more than u use. My daughter of 12 years starts sewing too. It's a good buy if you want a sewing machine. We like it.

I was so pleasantly surprised with the quality of this inexpensive machine. I bought a name brand machine during Covid and turned right around and sold it because it was so hard to use. This machine is easy! I've made new bobbins and threaded it without any problem. It sees like a dream. I highly recommend it!

It would be nice if the sewing machine came with the DVD referred to in the manual. I had to search Youtube to find a demo for it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzzn59PB5NI It's pretty easy to use, but the stitches are very loose. (I'm still trying to correct that.) All the parts are nicely made and durable, The regular sewing machine features are in different areas, but it's not hard to adapt to. All in all, it's a very nice machine at a great price!

Returned this as someone that has sewed for over 50 years I found this machine hard to deal with as every time you changed favorite even within cotton blends you had to change tension constantly. It was like tension setting would not hold. Found that aggravating.

I said I would recommend this item, this is a brother $120.. sewing machine that is enuff to tell you it is basic machine made out of plastic and if used a lot it won't last for more than couple of years, if not used much it might double that, I use this strictly for the free arm for sewing around bag necks. Light and simple to use on cloth items

So far this machine has been a good replacement for my old Kenmore 1986 model. It's lighter and has an automatic needle threader and drop in bobbin which I like. It is not as heavy duty as my old machine, but I don't see much anymore so that is fine. I haven't tried out the automatic button holder or sewn on a button yet , but so far I am really enjoying my new machine and I will never use all the stitches. Thanks.

I've owned 8 - 10 sewing over the years. from a reliable but basic Singer in the early 1960s through fairly expensive and more complicated in all the years I quilted. Because my hands would no longer cooperate. I gave up my last machine in 2024. But I realized I still needed a simple machine to handle hemming %26 repairs %26 such, but could only find lightweight "beginner" machines that couldn't handle heavier fabrics. This one can handle those (so far) but I found it unusually difficult to set up; it just seems that nothing quite fits smoothly; things slip and change when they shouldn't. It's manageable, but a bit disappointing. For my needs it's okay, but for more intricate or precise work I wouldn't want it.
