Just love this machine, had my old Brother sewing machine for almost 45 years. This one gives me so many stitches options and easy to set up. Looking forward to doing a lot of sewing projects. I did a few things already with it. Giving my old one to my Granddaughter so she can learn and enjoy sewing.
User friendly. Select stitch and the screen selects length of stitch and tension and it indicates which foot to use. Makes sewing fun again. Quiet machine.
I am still learning how to operate. I have not had any problem following the instructions on how to operate it. I have made pillow shams and curtains without any problems. I really like all the features of the machine.
This is a great machine. Easy to learn to use as I am new to sewing. So far, it does everything I need it to do. Will update when I learn to quilt on it.
The needle threader is complicated to use. Took multiple tries to use it. For the quilter the table is good, but the neck does not have enough room to actually sew the quilt pieces together.
Price was much more reasonable, and it was delivered free shipping! Also delivered early afternoon the next day. The machine is quiet. It has a variety of lovely stitches. It's easy to wind the bobbin. This machine has the absolute best drop in bobbin. I always dreaded dealing with bobbins. Tired of getting so frustrated, but this one is smooth and makes sense.Threading is straight forward. Had never use a side thread holder and was happy to find that it didn't take special thread. The main thing to remember is start the thread facing away from the direction of the machine.I like the up down button for the needle. I was happy about the back stitch button. The hands free sewing button is great. It takes a just a few minutes practice to get comfortable with it. You have to unplug the foot pedal in order for it to operate. Over all I am super happy with this machine and glad that I purchased it. I would definitely recommend considering it if you're in the market for a new machine.
After some research, I decided to upgrade from my Brother XL3030 to the XR9550, and I'm so glad I did! This machine is incredibly user-friendly—I found a helpful tutorial on YouTube, and it made learning the features even easier. It runs very quietly, which is a huge plus, and the 165 stitch options provide amazing versatility for different sewing projects. Whether you're a beginner or upgrading like me, this machine is a fantastic choice!
This replaced a 51 year old Brother sewing machine. Once the machine is completely set up it sews like a dream compared to the old machine. However, it took my wife quite a while to read through all the setup instructions and prepare the machine to sew. The machine has an "automatic" needle threading system that is really quite difficult to use, at least for an older individual that requires reading glasses. Also, the bobbin "threading" is not quite as simple as one would think it should be. It is a bit difficult to see that the bobbin thread is in it's proper location because of a plastic thread "guide" that mostly covers the area where the thread exits the bobbin housing. While the description of the machine states it's for quilting, my wife will never use it for that purpose.
So my overall problem with this machine is with the embroidery stitches, specifically some of the letters. It glitches and does not so many of the letters interrupting your sewing project. And then it computer resets after so that definitely is a problem and I thought it was just me so I looked it up online and apparently it's very much a problem in this machine if you actually want to use the letter stitches on your $280 sewing machine we should probably get a different model
This Machine was terrible from the first time to the last. It jammed constantly. I am a seasoned seamstress and have always used brother machines. I purchased this machine and after trying EVERY troubleshoot I returned it. I would like to stay with Brother machines but now I am going to try something different.
