fry cubed bacon until crispy, remove an save, leaving cooking oil, add a favorite berr brat to crisp up skin and brown, add red and green peppers and purple onion to oil and lightly brown, use a tsp dry mustard, add a can of black beans drained, couple tblspns of your favorite BBQ sauce, and Bush's
I buy 1 28oz can of brown sugar hickory and a small can of 12-16 oz Bush's Country style. If it's too much I'll take out 5-6 oz of the big can and add great value applewood thick cut bacon. I also add a small finely diced sweet or vidalia onion, 1/2 large green pepper finely diced, tablespoon of mustard, big squirt of ketchup, a whole bottle of any type of hickory bbq sauce (your choice), brown sugar (to taste) crushed red pepper, black pepper a little bit of salt (to taste. The trick is to finely dice the onion and green pepper) a dash of vinegar from a pepper jar. I lay the bacon raw on top of the beans (about 5-6 slices or more, up to you) and bake on 350 for about 21/2 to 3 hours, take it out uncover and cook until the bacon is browned pretty good. I can make sandwiches out of the bacon it's so good and even the beans.
Family likes baked beans sometimes as a side dish. I don't like GMOs in my food. Great Value baked beans are cheaper but have GMOs. I pay extra for Bush Beans because they are natural, not genetically modified. They taste good, and it's my "go-to" for beans 🫘.
Nothing better than pork %26 beans with brown sugar and a little dab of mustard. Only thing this needed was a little dab of mustard to be absolutely perfect, just like mom used to make! Usually I add both brown sugar and mustard but this can already has the exact amount of brown sugar as you would expect in the classic recipe!!
I tried the Bush's brown sugar hickory baked beans for the first time and they are the best tasting can bean ever. When opening the can the smell is awesome and I tasted them right out of the can, and they are so delicious. But after I heated them in the pan for a while, they are even better. I have always liked Bush's beans, but they really out did themselves with these baked beans because they are great. I highly recommend these to anyone who loves baked beans with their food, weather its a bar-b-que or just a side to rice and gravy.
These are great to have in the pantry both with planned meals and the evening you are too tired to cook. Taste good alone or combined with rice, in soups, over toast.
These beans are great with a third of a cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons barbecue sauce, some fried onions and fried bacon. And a little bell pepper if you want.🤗
I have bought this baked beans a few different times. And they are perfect for any barbecue or any meal any day. As a wonderful taste that reminds you of the old day barbecues.
Hubby likes it alongside his processed meat hotdogs and white bread buns. He says they taste the way he likes, so.... I'd rather eat a candy bar - about as many grams of sugar as a regular serving of baked beans.
