I needed brand new knives, this set has been great! I was reading reviews and I just want to say that the block itself, isn't as large as what it is made to seem. Second, these are hand wash only, I like having nice things, I take care of my stuff, I am not wealthy by any means, so when I buy something that's a bit expensive, why would I want to ruin it, by going against the manufacturer's advice to handwash Only? I also appreciate the fact that there is a built in sharpener for the non serrated knives, I dont have to worry about dull knives that i have to sharpen anymore. My son is going to be a chef when he grows up, that's another reason why i purchased these, he's learning how to chop, dice, slice, peel, and cut, sharp knives are essential for this, a dull knife is an unsafe knife. I also purchased these as a birthday present for myself, I'm one happy customer! I can't wait to use my full set just in time for Christmas!

Too of the line knife set. These knives are extremely sharp and hold their edge. Would recommend this set to anyone.

This knife set is amazing. I gave it to a friend for a wedding present and they are still using it. She said it's her favorite set of knives. They are pretty and durable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting to get a new knife set for a few years, and after using this set a few times, I can tell a night and day difference in the sharpness and overall quality in comparison to knife set that I had previously. I really like that the knifes are each one solid piece of stainless steel, so I won't need to worry about the blades getting loose, like my old knife set. A really nice feature of this set is that the upper 4 knifes have their specs etched into them, so you dont have to pull each knife out, in search to find the right one. From an esthetic point of view, this knife set looks very sleek and modern, and it looks fantastic in my kitchen with my stainless appliances, so it over all definitely gets a well deserved A++ rating!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this knife set! It's totally cute. It's a great little starter set of knives. The self sharpening feature for the non-serated knives will definitely come in handy. I love the sound it makes when you pull the knives in or out. I'm taking off one star just because the Santoku knife is a little smaller than I'd like and it's missing a bread knife, which I consider a pretty standard and necessary knife. The sharpness of the knives is good, right out of the box. The styling of this set is really nice too. I love the gray block and the all metal look of the knives. Also the block is at an angle that is better than my previous set. My previous set made it hard to pull out because it would hit my upper cabinets. This block doesn't doing that. My previous set is also Calphalon so I know the durability and quality is there.

They are so flimsy, super disappointing.
