Lodge 12" Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet

I named this skillet Big Bertha, because she is strong, steady, and always comes through. This Lodge 10.25” cast iron pan has quickly become one of my most reliable pieces in the kitchen. It’s heavy-duty, holds heat like a champ, and gives me that beautiful sear I can’t get from thinner pans. What I love: • Reliable heat great sear: Once it heats up, it stays hot. Perfect for browning meat, skillet meals, and anything you want crispy edges on. • Pre-seasoned and ready to go: I washed, dried, and lightly oiled it before first use, and it performed well right away. • Versatile: Stove-top to oven without a problem—great when you want to sear first and finish cooking in the oven. • Better with use: The more I cook with it, the easier it gets to clean and the smoother the surface feels. Good to know: • It’s heavy, so I use two hands when moving it, especially when it’s hot. • Like any cast iron, it does best with simple care: don’t soak it, dry it immediately, and rub a tiny bit of oil after cleaning. Overall, this skillet is the definition of a kitchen workhorse. If you want a pan that’s dependable, cooks evenly, and will last a long time, Big Bertha is worth it.

This was a pick-up item. Very pleased with the product especially as it’s made in the USA! This was a Christmas gift list item for my niece the only thing that disappointed me was a big round sticker was slapped on the inside of the pan on top of the Lodge sticker telling all the information of item, and how to care for the pan. The Walmart sticker was telling the item ordered when it was going to be picked up and who was picking it up. I get needing to place it however, should of been bagged and put on top of the bag! The pan was great quality, and she was be pleased with it. I just thought you should know the little detail for the future even if it wasn’t a gift, I was able to peel it off, but it it made it look like I took off a clearance sticker except that it was 5 inches round! We were able to read it and make out what it says, but I just thought it might be an improvement opportunity for the future, not to slap stickers on the label of the item just poor judgment. Otherwise, the service was great from start to finish.

I love these Lodge cast iron skillets!! I thought the 12" might be too large, so I ordered the 10'" and 8"!! I'm 62 and my wife passed early this year. I'm disabled and I'm in wheelchair that puts my face at stovetop level. I needed heavier cookware on the stove. The Lodge brand has answered the call on every level!! I can't tell how pleased I am. I was amazed how the 12"Lodge iron skillet heated evenly and retained heat, even on my electric stove!! My dinner tasted so much better and cleanup was so fast!! You won't be

I'm new to cooking w cast iron, I've always been intimidated. This pan is very heavy and requires 2 hands but cooks my food very well and is large enough to cook multiple types of food at once. I highly recommend. It's a great pan, especially for the cost.

I'm so happy I purchased this skillet! I lost Daddy's cast iron skillet due to an accident. It took me a couple years to even think about replacing it. I miss my daddy so much!! I'm so happy with this skillet due to its functionality. The seasoning works great and the pan meets my needs perfectly!

best option for cooking large meals on non toxic metals, in case those reading do not know, rinse and scrape it with warm or hot water, and a mild brush, no soap, after cooking, then wipe dry. afterwards, make sure to put on some heat to remove excess water for pores then wipe down with cooking oil

High quality, even cooking, absolutely worth buying! Easy as ever cleaning!Husband can use metal utensils and not destroy it and cooks outside, on the grill's side burner, so no bacon smell or grease inside thr house, for instance. I have no doubt it wil last for generations, as one would expect. So, its priced extremely well and qualty would rival or surpsss some of the more expensive brands. He loves it and I love it for saving my non-stick wear at least a little longer! I also bought him a titanium cutting board. He has been thrilled with both, I appreciate them as well but I'll buy additional for inside and let him enjoy his outdoor 'grill kitchen'

Not like they used to be made for sure. They do last a long time so I needed to replace mine. Quality is super noticeable vs once made 20 years ago. The edges are not as smooth and the brim isn't beveled off like you would want it to be, pretty straight corner edge that feels almost sharp. Handles is nice and smooth though. Like any cast iron, needs different care to keep it seasoned. Seasoned doesn't mean your job is done seasoning it. Every time you cook in it, it gets seasoned. Wish the cooking surface of it was smoother for sure, like I said, I remember them different. So far so good, but I know different. And didn't want to go with a different, more affordable brand.

I am so disappointed with the Lodge 12" seasoned cast iron skillet. One large section of the rim, about a quarter of it, including part of the smaller handle, was not smoothed and finished. It is jagged and rough. I purchased this as a Christmas gift. The item was part of a grocery pickup order, and I didn't notice how marred the product was until I got home. Now I'll have to lug this item back to the store to get a refund. Obviously, quality control is lacking where this item was made. I'm debating whether I'll purchase another Lodge 12" skillet or seek a similar product from another brand. 🫤

My grandmother had cast-iron skillets, and I don't ever remember them being a pain in the butt. This one, everything sticks to, and I don't notice a difference in how it cooks. I really wanted a good cast-iron skillet and chose this based on other reviews. I hate it. I'm gonna spend the extra money and invest in a really good one.
