LOVE these pans! Really wanted All-Clad pans but hate solid metal lids. I like to see whats going on inside while I cook. Also like seeing the impending "boil-over" BEFORE it happens. These were the highest quality pan I could find, that comes with glass lids. Great trade off!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The easiest stainless steel surface to maintain that I have ever worked with! Amazing even cooking surface and fast pan heating. You will never buy another cookware set once using these awesome pans. 5 stars for sure!!
This cookware is wonderful. It cooks evenly, and it's very good for browning meats. I have used the covered saute pan to make pot roast and Swedish meatballs. I made chili in the stock pot. I made gravy in one of the sauce pans. I made a fritatta in one of the omelette pans. All came out very well. This excellent set is a major bargain at this price.
I've been looking for a heavy set of cooking ware for months and this one popped up at a great sale price. I've started cooking more since we are home all the time and I needed something that was thicker and heavier to provide that slow cook nuance. As I unpacked these and especially once I started using these, you can tell the quality and it definitely does make a difference when cooking as well. My food is coming out better and having a lot less "burning" episodes. It makes a difference even if you are not the best cook like me. I know some people might not like cleaning the non-stick set but it's not really even an issue with these because of the quality. I routinely cook eggs and omelets and cleanup is not a problem and it's so much safer than the non-stick services I used to use. Highly recommend.
Durable, stainless, easy to clean, and a nice classic look. The lids make cracking noises in use which worries me a bit and they could have a tighter fit, my dads old set fit tighter. Overall though, solid set.
They state the handles are “stay-cool stainless steel handles provide heat resistance when cooking on the stovetop”, but this is somewhat false. The “lid” handles get very hot, but because the “pot” handles are long, they are able to say this. Also, if you don't wipe them dry right away, the water stains both the inside and outside.
Harder to clean than I expected. The saute pan would be more useful if it were larger. The tall narrow stock pot won't get much use either. Just a weird section of sizes overall for the typical home, but I have to take part of the blame for not thinking it through.
I received this set as a Christmas gift, so not even a year has gone by. While making baby food, we heard a loud pop and looked over at the stove to see that the glass lid had completely shattered. All that food went to waste. This has never happened with our >30 year old Farberware set.
I bought this set and not only does it burn. The material is not bad. Its not original stainless steel. It causes dark stains, rust marks and after trying to wash it with everything I know even the mild abrasive with Oxy...,, still the same thing. It happens when I fry eggs
I've always used non-stick (for over 15 years) and I just could not get the hang of these, they are a nightmare to clean and use, even after following the instructions my food burned, oil popped at me, pans were a disaster after just one use. Will probably buy higher rated non-stick. I know a lot of people swear by the steel style and it's versatility, but I guess it's not for me. Non-stick had never been a problem for me in regards to versatility, I'm not one to fry for a few minutes and then "finish off" in the oven. 90% of my cooking is done on stove top.
