It was my first time to smoke a Turkey on my Woodwind grill. Using the Turkey Cannon Infusion was very simple. Not really knowing what kind of liquid to use, we decided to use beer, and we put different spices mixed with it. I have to tell you... The turkey turned out great. Moist, and fast to cook. Looks like I'll do a summer turkey, as it was so easy.
I give it five stars. The way the turkey cannon holds up the bird Off of the grill So it doesn't get burned and cooks more evenly perfect for smoking in a smoker Or a oven
First time smoking a turkey with a 20 pounder and the turkey cannon nailed it. Super juicy and tons of good smoke flavor inside and out. It's pretty stout, but 20 lbs is definitely the limit. I was nervous but it was so easy and so good I could see myself smoking several turkeys a year. Camp Chef's recipe video was spot-on too.
This was my first smoked turkey, with my first use of my new Camp Chef smoker; the result was the juiciest turkey that I've ever COOKED! And I've cooked a few birds (in my 60 years). This Turkey Cannon held up an 18lb turkey and allowed the smoke to fully-envelop the bird; I would highly-recommend this cooking tool!
Saw this item at another store but did not purchase it as I wanted to check the reviews. Reviews were all positive and I was pleased to see that Wal-Mart had it in stock on-line and the price was quite good. Although I have not yet used the roaster, I will be soon and look forward to it. The ordering process, delivery updates and subsequent quick arrival of the item were all excellent.
This was our first attempt smoking a turkey and using the turkey cannon made it so easy! First we brined the turkey for 12 hours, filled the tube with Turkey broth and seasonings, placed the turkey on the cannon and in no time, that turkey was ready, moist and delicious! Amazing product, love it!
This is a simple unique device that gives you soda can chicken on a turkey you can put all sorts of different sodas or drinks in it or flavorings and it will marinate the inside of your turkey while it's roasting it does make doing my favorite type of stuffing difficult because he can't stuff for turkey that you're using on the canon.
"Smoked" my first turkey with my new Turkey Cannon on my Camp Chef Smokepro DLX. I'm practicing for the holidays by cooking a 12 pound bird, quite small by Thanksgiving dinner standards and this is what I found... The bird touched the lid of the smoker while on the Cannon, I couldn't squeeze it down any more. It only took 2 hours and 10 minutes for the breast to measure 165 degrees, I liked that! The turkey tastes WONDERFUL, just like a roasted turkey should... however, I wanted a SMOKED TURKEY, not roasted. I went by the direction supplied with my DLX, pre heat to 350, turn to high smoke for 45 minutes, turn up to 375 using oak pellets. Also, I can't figure out how to clean the inside of the Cannon. Conclusion, Turkey Cannon is made for larger grills or smaller birds. Going to try smoking another next weekend lower and slower with more smoke! I love my Camp Chef Pellet Grill!
Can't fit a very large bird (over 12 lbs) on it without it tipping and hanging crooked. Didn't result in a much faster cooking time
The base arrived a little uneven when set on a countertop. With a little bit effort I was able to straighten it. The first use of the cannon provided a nice moist turkey in a dramatic shortening of time. I was used to a more intense smoked flavor but was still tasty The The base arrived a little uneven when set on a countertop. With a little bit of effort, I was able to straighten it.
