Canon EOS R5 Mark II Body

David L April 14, 2026

Upgraded from R7 to R5 MK II and I am very happy. The camera focuses much faster and the better sensor performs much better in low light. While I was anticipating missing the extra reach from the 1.6 crop factor of the R7, the extra resolution of the sensor, better image quality, and faster focusing more than makes up for it. No regrets!

Enjoying this camera!

I am a Wildlife Photographer, focusing on birds and upgraded from the R6 M2 to the R5 M2. The speed, accurate auto focusing, pre-focusing ability and the Highlight tone Priority are a game changer! As I prefer to shoot in bright light, I am not overly concerned that this camera does not perform as well as the R6 M2 in low light. Overall, a good choice for me!

Simply superb camera

Anonymous September 25, 2025

Canon EOS R5 2 for wildlife photography. Beginning amateur. After owning film cameras and an array of DSLR bodies I moved through R 7, R6 and R6 II with delight, learning from friends and following tips from generous internet posters I became confident enough to buy an R5 Mark II and the results I have seen within a couple of months have made me a very happy beginning amateur bird photographer. The focus capabilities, the IS, the precapture option and the low light performance as well as 45 mp have made my photos improve dramatically and filled me with joy every time I come home and look at my pictures.

Canon R5 MARK II

C_V June 28, 2025

It’s a big difference upgrading from 5D MK IV TO R5 MK II for me. With the sophisticated AF system, I was able to capture lots of images in sharp focus that I was unable to do with my old camera. I have always wondered how others were able to capture so many incredible shots with an incredible timing. Now I know.

If you're on the fence and need a serious tool...

Michael T June 19, 2025

Just do it and take the leap on getting this. I couldn't have imagined this was such an improvement over my EOS R, that I have been happy with for many years for still images. I needed the video upgrades that the R5 line has, but have realized how much of an improvement the still imaging is on this. Not to mention the speed and silence this thing operates under. I am so glad I went with the Mark II over the original R5, the extra money has been well worth it so far.

An Outstanding Camera!

Maine Photography by MC August 20, 2026

I already owned an R5, which is a dream camera! I needed to replace an old, malfunctioning 90D and I thought I was going to get another R5 but I decided to upscale with the R5 Mark II. A weekend photo shoot recently produced remarkable images from both cameras. I keep a telephoto lens on the R5 and a 24-105 mm lens on the R5 Mark II to avoid changing lenses in the field and getting dust on the sensors. The new batteries that came with the Mark II are amazing and I'm now using them on both cameras since updating the firmware on the R5. I do landscape, wildlife, and astrophotography. It's with the astrophotography that these cameras shine brightest. Using proper techniques, you get pin-point stars with the 45 megapixel lenses when zoomed-in, not little squares. Love the R5 and the R5 Mark II!

The Mark II is a step above for me

Timoteo July 19, 2026

I appreciate the updates to the R5 on the Mark II. So far, eye tracking is quicker and more spot on than the R5. I also like the configuration/placement of the function buttons.

Nice Camera with full-screen focus mode

I like everything except the video and camera switch. That switch is easy to make mistakes with.

Excellent Camera with High Noise Levels

Anonymous February 4, 2026

I enjoy using my Canon R5 Mark Ii; however, my biggest disappointment is the high iso noise levels are significantly higher than my 5D Mark IV and R1. After seeing the images produced by the R5 Mark II compared to my other 2 cameras, I believe 30 megapixels is the sweet spot. Most images from my R5 Mar II need to have noise reduction in Lightroom applied. Otherwise, the R5 Mark II is a great camera.
