Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R (New)

This is an excellent product if you have a Canon R series mirrorless camera and would like to continue to use your EF as well as EF-S lenses. Here's an interesting point....If you're using this adapter on a Canon FULL frame R series camera with the adapter and are attaching a Canon EF-S lens, the full frame camera senses this and switches into "cropped mode". What this does is temporarily change the full frame camera into an APS-C camera while an EF-S lens is attached to the adapter. Here's an example...If you're using a full frame Canon R5 (45 mp sensor) and want to use an EF-S lens, the result will be a lower resolution image. In "crop mode" the R5 would produce a 17.5 mp image because the crop factor (1.6) is applied to BOTH the vertical as well as the horizontal. The result is 45/(1.6 x 1.6) = 17.5 mp. 17.5 mp is still a sizeable image but you should be aware of the downsizing of the image. This ONLY applies when using a Canon FULL frame R series camera with the adapter and an EF-S lens. There is NO image megapixel loss when using standard EF lenses with the Canon R series cameras and the adapter.

I am pleased to have purchased this adapter for it provided the opportunity of utilizing the many EOS L lenses purchased.

This works great with my EF lenses, and except for the added length they feel like native RF glass. The only lens I felt compelled to replace was the V1 of the 70-200 IS 2.8 L - because the RF version is lighter and shorter and sharper (and the adapter makes the EF even more front heavy). Since I am currently using a 5d IV for a backup this will allow me to use the rest of my lenses until I jump into mirrorless with both feet.

Does a fine job and was a free add-on. I haven't missed the "manual ring" so happy I didn't spend more, nor did I want to mess with filters behind the lenses as the other pricier choice. Yes it adds a little weight but doesn't effect the autofocus like extension tubes with my telephoto zooms so I'm happy with it. Since I shoot with the EOS R only when need silent mode and use my EOS 5 for other situations there is need for only one adapter ring.

Well made product, as expected from Canon for one of their premier cameras. I'm happy I didn't give up and purchase a 3rd party adapter. This one fits perfectly and tightly, just as it needs to do to hold some of the heavier lenses. Thank you Canon!

Decent price for just the adapter, love the versatility it adds to EOS R camera line, being able to use the high-quality EF lens I have on this camera is absolutely amazing!

Simple to use, well made, works as described. The adaptor enables me to use a couple EF lenses on my new Canon RP, and helps me while I bridge to all RF lenses in the future. Canon quality makes is fun to use.

Works SO well on my EOS R. I was worried about using ANY adapter between a premium body and a premium lens like my 70-200 f2.8 IS iii... but it performs the exact function it should, and it does it perfectly.

This adapter allows all IQ to work from the camera to the lens. It is fast reliable and most important you can use your ef lens on an r6 and r5 camera.

I love the new R6 Mark II and the adaptor allows me to use the Canon lenses that I have invested in over the years for my other Canon EOS cameras...
