Customer Insights: Rated 4.6/5 from 65 reviews.
Use this lens with the R7 camera in photographing artwork inside and outside. The clarity is excellent, and the aperture of 1.8 is outstanding. Even in very dark environments, the images are bright.
Very good prime lens for night light shooting. Really enjoyed the outcome of this lens. Best lens for portrait and creative photography.
This lens has everything you are looking for as the beginner photographer. Awesome buy and worth the every penny.
The autofocus is swift and accurate. Pictures are clear and bright. Bokeh is easy to control. I got this lens as a replacement for my old Minolta 50mm 1.7 from 1986 which I used (manual focus) with an adapter on my Eos R7.
I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this lens at the price point it is. The lens feels good and the image quality is great, with good focusing using the R6.
It's everything I was expecting. Worth the money!
Perfect for my Canon R50. Very good lens for the price
Perfect lens especially outdoors
After purchasing the new to me Canon EOS RP with the RF 24-105 this was the next lens I decided to get after reading the positive reviews and knowing that a 50mm is a lens that has always been part of my equipment in the past. I can only say it has turned out to be a sound decision and the lens is going to get a lot of use.
It's a fine lens. Every Canon shooter should have a Nifty Fifty in their bag. They're very packable, and provide acceptable image quality for a variety of scenarios. The 50mm focal length, the no matter which lens, is a good all-arounder. The new RF version seems a bit more solidly built than the most recent EF iteration. It doesn't do anything exceptionally well, but it's "fine" for general shooting, and the price point is very affordable. If you already have the latest EF 50 1.8 STM, the only major driver to update to this lens is to eliminate the adapter.
