Canon PowerShot SX410 IS 20 Megapixel Digital Camera (Black)

I wanted a camera with a lot of zoom. I plan to spend a lot of time in state and national parks. I went to Brazos Bend State Park and took some incredible zoomed in pictures. One of an alligator from a safe distance. I saw a bird land far off in the water. I took a regular pic and then zoomed in on the bird. That 40x optical zoom was GREAT. I could not see the bird in the original pic and I actually zoomed in too much and chopped of the top of the head and the bottom of the bird.

I was hopeing the 20 mp and 40X zoom would give detailed photos of the moon. The results were more impressive than I expected. Excellent photos and great zooming of photos. I'm not fully aquainted with all of the capabilities of this camera. I'm still experimenting. Below are a couple photos I've taken.

I was a Sony camera user for many years, but after reading the reviews for the newer ones I decided to try a different brand. This camera was recommended to me by an individual who is taking photography classes. Great pictures can be taken with this camera. Took it with me to a concert and was able to get great pictures of the performers on the stage. Videos come out clear and am really happy with the ability to zoom while taking video. Had come trouble finding the flash, was not listed in the instructions that came with it. It folds down above the Canon logo for anyone looking for it.

I never used a camera before ,but when I put this one in my hand It felt right. Light weight, easy to use. My pictures came out great . 100% satisfied with the results.

I am not a pro and was not looking for much more than preserving memories and those unique scenes one happens upon from time to time. There are far more specific details given by others here, but this camera works for most basic stuff. I like that it's small as I can stick it in my coat pocket. The zoom is as advertised, but hard to hold still. Haven't had it long enough to get non-winter shots with lots of greens (vegetation) and blue (ocean, sky, etc.), but so far it's producing the shots I want, inside and outdoors. Note, it's very similar to a Kodak I had for several years. It takes a little bit to get the settings right, but it's not difficult. No deal breakers for the price for me.

My girlfriend had always wanted a camera that was more than a point and shoot and I think this was a good place to start. She loved it but I think this is just step one on her camera adventure. The image on the camera itself doesn't look impressive but I'm sure once uploaded it will do justice. I wish it came with an SD card!

When I first received my package I thought it was the bigger camera but then when I turned it on it was great the quality was great takes amazing pictures

Perfect camera for beginners or just wanting to capture beautiful memories of your family.....I love to take nature shots and really just things I find beautiful for fun and I've captured some gorgeous moments of kids and family to cherish forever!

This in my opinion is a very good camera. Regardless of the price. However if you are looking for a camera that takes good live action pictures, it doesn't do that very well

I bought this as an "upgrade" from the 14 mp that I had. I wish I hadn't. The zoom is great, when it finally focuses. The images had a white line running vertically in them, that took forever to get cleared out. Taking a CLEAR still shot was hard enough, action shots - nonexistent, they ALL came out blurry. Getting a clear zoomed image - next to impossible. I can say, that I liked the rechargeable battery. Otherwise, I disliked everything else about this camera.
