fits smoothly on standard bar, I just like to have some sort of handle to grab plates, but you kind of have to deal with that due to it being a bumper plate. Overall worth the money

I bought this online thinking I got a good deal for 2x45 pound plates. The finish of the overall plate is excellent. I brought this equipment to into my home gym and slide it onto my weight pegs when I heard a loud scrap. I thought it was strange so I removed it and inspected the barbell hole and compared it to my other plates. This was rough and slightly course while my other plates were a completely smooth finish. I decided to just return these immediately instead of sanding it, filing it down, etc. I can see this severally damaging my equipment and barbell overtime. I have another pair of cap barbell plates that do not have this problem. Although they are a different version without the olympic ring around the bumper plate hole. In summary, QC was lacking on these plates and I'll spend my money, effort and time on another version, product or brand that has reputable quality. Walmart allowed for a smooth return 👍🏼

I bought a set of these months ago for an indoor home gym and I can't use them. Every single plate has an overpowering chemical smell — the closest thing I can compare it to is heavy cigarette smoke or a factory fire. It's not a faint "new rubber" odor that fades. It fills the entire room within minutes of bringing them inside. I've tried every remedy I could find. I washed them. I left them outside to off-gas for months. Not weeks — months. The smell today is just as strong as it was on day one. I've also had to give up on using them in the garage, because it permeates that whole space too. To be fair on the product itself: the fit on a standard Olympic bar is correct, the weight is accurate, and they're built well enough to do what a bumper plate is supposed to do. If your gym is outdoors or in a space you never spend time in, the odor may not bother you at all, and at this price they'd be a reasonable buy. But for anyone planning to use these indoors — a basement, spare room, or attached garage — go in knowing this is a real possibility. Mine were unusable, and I'm giving them away. My guess is it comes down to the rubber compound used, and it's a case where paying more for a higher-quality plate is worth it. Two stars because the plates function, but a piece of equipment I can't be in the same room with isn't much use to me.

We ordered the rubber cap barbell plate and instead received the metal plate ( actually one metal, one rubber). The metal damages the floor.
