I just started working out again and was using a 5lb weight for about a month. I knew it was time to move up since the 5lb weight was too light. I ended up choosing the 9lb weight and it's great! FYI you only get one so if you looking for a set of barbells then you must order 2. I only got one since I only work out one arm at a time, so no need to waste $ on 2. Excellent quality and totally what I expected so I am very happy with my purchase!
I completely ruptured my rotator cuff. I had surgery and rehab but rehab only went so far. My shoulder muscles had atrophied during the delay in diagnosis and surgery. I have good motion in my arm but little strength. I got hand barbells of 2, 3, and 5 pounds in hopes of regaining shoulder strength. They are easy to hold and don't slip in sweaty hands. You don't need to hold on tightly to keep them from moving around in your hand. They are the same used by physical therapy offices. I expect to pass them on to my grandchildren.
I was hesitant to buy these at first because it's usually my experience that cheaper items are just that - cheap. However, I have been using these quite frequently since I got them and they are (so far) holding up very well! The covering does not become slippery with sweating palms (I have experienced this with rubber coated weights in the past) and they are a rather fun color. My only complaint, in fact, is cosmetic. I wish these weights came in a choice of colors. Alas, the color changes only with the weight you purchase. However that said, I have to say that these are a great addition to my newly established home work out routine. If you are thinking about buying small weights for home, you should definitely give these a try! They're great!
I have been in physical and occupational therapy for 3 weeks now these things really help to strengthen up your upper body parts I love the color it is so pretty for women. It is just the right size (weight size 1 pound) in each hand if your sort of weak this is the perfect size not too heavy and not too light.
I purchased thes weights to aide in my at home recovery from rotor-cup surgery. I purchased the 1, 3 and 5 pound weights, 2 of each. I like the neoprene coating. This coating is a rough texture and aids in holding on to the weights. The 1 pound is small enough that I can hold 2 in my hand at once so it was easy to go to 2 pounds without buying that particular size.
This is a nice, comfortable to hold dumbbell. I like that they are available in 1 lb. increments so you can slowly and safely increase the weight as your fitness level improves.
I was looking for affordable hand weights without having to purchase an entire set. These are a very straight-forward purchase and priced for almost any budget.
I bought 16 of these for my yoga teacher. She's used them twice, and loves them. I got an ammo box for her to put them in, which is the tupaware of men.. It's all good, To increase the quality one would have to pay 7 times the price and get the super designer ones, which would get the 5 star rating. We are happy with these.
These are durable dumb bells but keep in mind they are a smaller version of the typical dumb bells - they are not as long and someone with large hands might not like them. I found they serve the purpose just fine for most of my geriatric patients with no problems at all. Hard to beat the price. Shipping was fast and reliable.
These are exactly what I needed and I find they are very comfortable to hold. It's just the color I don't like much, but there is no choice; different weights each have a specific color. This is a very minor issue. Overall these are great value for the price. I will certainly order the heavier weights in the future.
