This shower chair I ordered is for my wheelchair-bound husband. This particular model was recommended by his occupational therapist because it had no side handle bars hindering his access to the seat. Great choice!
I've gone through 4 shower seats (the ones with the skinny legs) in less than 2 years despite being below the weight limit. The last one I bought started bending after it's 2nd use! They must have a flaw in the design! So we searched around and found this one with thicker legs, for the first time in a long time I feel safe in the shower again. Sitting on this seat feels as comfortable as a heavy dining room chair so I have no worries about bending it and ending up in the floor. I haven't had it long so I can't attest to it's durability yet but I'm sure I'll be able to give it praise there in a few months...
I Snapped the legs and back into place and used it this morning. It is very strong (Up to 400 lbs) and sturdy in the shower. I use mine in a tub by backing up to the side of the tub, sitting down in the chair, then swinging my feet into tub. I use a tub grab bar for support during transfer and it works very well. I felt completely safe, no fear of tipping over or falling. Next step for me is to install a hand held shower for more safety.
I bought this bath chair for my 6'5" husband. He is extremely overweight. It was a huge effort for him to take a shower, with little endurance standing. This chair took literally no more than 3 minutes to snap into place. I had no trouble putting it in my standard shower. My husband absolutely loves this chair and now loves getting into the shower and bathing. This chair holds up to 400 lbs. and is extremely durable and looks to be easy to control any mold just by drying it. The low price for this piece of merchandise is unbelievable. I highly recommend this item to anyone who has problems showering due to impaired endurance.
I am so pleased with this purchase! I am tall..6"4".. and currently having leg issues which make it necessary to sit down frequently. Wanting a chair that was sturdy and yet lightweight and easy to move around the house as I needed to exercise- yet rest- I chose this bath seat as an option for my needs. I am a large man- over 300 lbs - and this chair is exceptionally sturdy and easy to move. Sturdy, non wiggly legs and convenient hand grips on the side to grasp if needed were a nice addition. The back is optional to install- but comfortable for the tiny extra price over the backless model and good for moving. I added a tie on padded cushion for my tush-- it helps! Delivery was 1 day from order to Fed Ex at my door!! I've only had a short time with the chair- but I am ordering 2 more in moments to put in other locations to avoid moving it all over the place. Took about 10 minutes to assemble- no tools- unscrew legs to desired height [ maximum is 21" floor to top of seat + my comfy cushion!] no screws- no metal parts to corrode- no rust to worry about- rubber feet seem well attached. I am a happy customer! The price was the best I found shopping around and worth the few extra $ for the high quality, ease of assembly, sturdy feel and convenience it offers. Free shipping was a plus too! Now excuse me- I am going to order more right now!! SMILE!
My husband had a hip replacement and needed a bath chair that was both wide and sturdy for swiveling on to get into and out of the tub. He had another seat which was not deep enough but this one was perfect! He feels much more secure now entering and exiting the tub.
I love this chair in my shower. It is stable and provides a comfortable place to sit while I shave my legs or scrub my feet. I no longer worry about slipping or falling on the wet tile. To my surprise even my husband said he likes to use the chair while showering. I like that it has a convenient place to hang the hand held shower head when not in use.
This chair is great. The plastic legs with protective padded feet will not scratch. It is easy to put together and light weight. The back can be left off if you prefer. It will not tip over easily. Had the same one for my mother and it worked out so well that I bought another for my house. My only problem is that it takes up a lot of space in my shower. Pay attention to the measurements. Great for an older person or anyone who wants more safety in the bath or shower. I think this is the best bath/shower chair out there and as a nurse I have seen a lot of different ones.
This chair is a life saver for post operative care. I had bilateral surgery on my feet and this allowed me to be comfortable. My husband is having a hip replacement and it will again be extremely helpful. I would recommend this product to anyone with mobility or balance issues.
I am a tall person and this is kind of tiny but it'll do what it's supposed to do as long as I can bathe it's good
