Carlson Secure Foldable Single Door Metal Dog Crate, Medium, Black, 30-Inch

There is so much to say about this crate. I was worried that the extra large crate wouldn't be large enough for my rough collie. Many companies say extra large will fit a full size collie only to find that my dogs head hits the top of the crate. This crate is really nice. First of all it folds flat with a small catch to lock it together. The crate took less than a minute to set up, and half that time to take down. The bottom tray is a heavy duty plastic and doesn't make the metal noise when the dog walks on it. As you can see from the picture my dog has more than enough room even with his bed in the crate to walk around, curl up or stretch out and still have room to spare. It's the perfect crate for shows, home, traveling, or even everyday. The tray is easy to clean with a squirt bottle or a rinse in the shower.

This is a Carlson Compact and secure metal dog crate. This crate is an extra large, black dog crate. It measures 48inches long,30 inches wide and 36 inches long. The wire is coated in a black finish. I believe this will keep the cage from rusting. Altho I wouldn't leave it outside without a cover. It seems very sturdy. I went over this crate to see if there is any way of a pet escaping. With all the latches and catches in place, your dog is not going to get loose. When traveling in a truck, I would secure the crate down to prevent sliding. Also it would be a good idea to put some kind of bedding in the crate as well. You could also use this for a cat or puppies. The wire of the cage is too narrow for even a cat or pup to go through. The crate could also be covered with something to give your dog the feeling of a comfy place to hang out. It also contains a large hard plastic tray in the bottom. This black tray has a 'lip' on it that's about 1 1/2 inch which will keep anything from spilling out. The back panel can be opened to remove the tray for cleaning. The tray can be hosed down for a quick clean. There is a door in the front of the crate that is large enough for a large dog to enter without any problems. The door has 2 locks on it for added security. This cage is large, but will fold down into a compact piece that can be slipped under most beds. Also the tray installed, folds down with it.

This Carlson metal dog crate is a really nice one. We were about to get a dog, and I was not sure what size it might be so I asked for the extra large size. Boy, is it big! We ended up getting a smaller size dog, but it fits her perfectly. It gives her plenty of space to sleep in and be in while we are away from home. It also has a pull-out pan in case of accidents the dog might have while in it. It is sturdy enough to prevent any escape and has a double locking mechanism that is easily slid into place, but durable enough to withstand dogs. It is very easily collapsed and to put back together again. Everything goes together to make it easy to take with you, if you need to. My brother had his wedding this past weekend at my parent's house and we were not sure how long we might be gone, so my husband brought the crate with him to put our dog into. It stuck out of our car's trunk, but that is expected considering how big it is. The black steel is sturdy and well-enforced. Dummy-proof to put together, as well. I have no complaints! It is a simple, great product for pets!

Carlson Extra Large Black Metal Dog Crate is a great buy. This crate came nicely packaged and was very easy to assemble. Once assembled the crate measures 4 feet deep from the door, 2.5 feet wide, and 2 feet 8 inches tall. The metal used to construct it is nice and sturdy. The crate has one door and a removable pan that can be washed very easily. I currently have a growing Labrador puppy that weighs 25 pounds and I am using this for house training. This crate is working quiet well for house training and doubles as a very comfortable large place for him to sleep at night. My lab puppy is expected to eventually weigh 60-65 pounds and I am confident that he will be comfortable in this extra-large crate. The crate has some weight to it and would not fit in the back of my SUV. For transporting purposes I have chosen to use a smaller size crate. I plan to use this crate for a very long time and am very pleased with its durability, strength and looks. I especially like the large door that it has built in to it. The door is big enough for a large dog and has 2 locks to secure it closed. Overall, I think this crate is a great buy for owners of large pets.

This is another great product offered in the Spark Review program that makes my life easier. Both of our grown sons have dogs. They live 160 miles away and when they come to visit, they do not want to have to carry their crate. We live on the lake and have no fences on our land so they must have a place to stay. This crate folds up nice and flat taking up very little room in our garage until it is needed. When the dogs come to visit, we bring the crate in the house when the weather is bad or put it on the porch when the weather is nice. It is easy to clean with a water hose and dries quickly. The crate is big enough that our older son’s bigger dog and younger son’s smaller dog can fit in the crate at the same time. The dogs are perfectly happy sleeping on the plastic bottom but we sometimes put a quilt or heavy towel At times our neighbor has to puppy sit and will need to borrow the crate. I am very happy about this addition to our home.

This is one the best crates that I have ever had the privilege of using. I have a lot of crates in every size but I was pleasantly surprised when this crate arrived and the size of it. Large really does mean LARGE, it was much bigger in size than my extra large Remington crate. This is really important because I have Australian Shepherds which are large dogs over 50 lbs and some can get into the 70's with males, we were running low on large crates and we also foster so we needed to have one on hand ready to go. This crate can easily accommodate a large dog and then some. This crate is the easiest crate to assemble, ever. Really all you have to do is take it out of the box and it pressure locks into place, you don't have to do anything with it at all. It also folds up to store quite nicely when not in use. This is an open crate, your dog can see you, you can see your dog this is good for many dogs who have anxiety about being contained in a crate where they can only see forward. Our dogs loved it so much that they all took turns going in and two of them we had to pull out. The tray on the bottom on the crate slides out by lifting the locks on the bottom row of it. It allows you to take it out for cleaning and then just slide it back in when you are done. This crate is secure the locks slide into place, unless you have a Houdini dog they are not going to break out of here. This crate is also huge, when we looked at the dimensions we realized we could easily have two dogs in there 40 lbs each so it would be great for a litter of pups. I am very happy with the crate, our dogs love it and if and when the next foster should arrive they will be more than comfortable.

Overall I like this crate. I have a 22 pound dachshund and got him the 36”. It is the perfect size for him. Though it's a bit tall, he has just enough room to turn around and get comfy. The crate was very easy to put together and disassemble. We are planning on using this as our travel crate. The only reason I gave it four stars is the door handles seem a bit flimsy. They are pretty loose when “locked” and I think a crafty dog could potentially escape. There's definitely not much keeping them in place. I just have my fingers crossed my dog doesn't figure that out lol The wires themselves seem sturdy, and the crate held up fine when he jumped a little on the side. Overall it's a nice cage, just might have to get and extra security hook on the door.

The plastic piece that goes on the bottom was cracked. I could not get just that part. I had to return the whole thing, I haven't bought a new one yet.

I obviously didn't read the specifications before picking out this item! I choose it as a secondary crate for our dog to leave in our travel trailer. When it arrived the box looked like it would be about the size of the one we currently own. But once put together, WOW! It's HUGE! It was very comical because we have a 6lb. chihuahua. Needless to say he looks even smaller inside this thing. It is described as Intermediate but I would have to say that needs to be changed to LARGE and if LARGE is any bigger it should be Jumbo! This crate will hold a cocker spaniel very well and still have room for their bed and food/water bowl. If you have a medium pet, I highly recommend this product. It is light weight and easy to carry around from point to point.

Very cheaply made and not worth the money. As hard as it was to fold out, I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to fold up. The crate itself is very flimsy. The two locks on the front are almost impossible to lock and unlock. The mechanisms do not line up properly and you really have to work at it. I am going to have to figure out another way to secure it. If it wasn't such a hassle to break it back down I would have returned it. It is the perfect size I just wish it was of a better quality material
