Char-Griller Dual Function Gas and Charcoal Grill

While I haven't started using my new Dual Function grill just yet because there's still snow on my patio, this is actually the second Dual Function 2-Burner Gas & Charcoal Grill that I've owned. My first one was left behind when I moved so I had to replace it with the same model. I love being able to have both a charcoal grill for low and slow pulled pork and ribs AND the convenience of a gas grill for when I just want to grill burgers and hot dogs. It's gets either job done perfectly. I don't know why anyone would buy any other grill.

Absolutely GREAT BBQ. Gas on the left side and Charcoal/Wood on the right. I like it so much I ordered one for my son. BBQing using Oak or Mesquite on the right side gives the meats incredible flavor. The double gas burners can be to over 600 to seat Beef TriTips and other thick meats. Will be buying a third as a House Warming gift soon.

This is an awesome grill. I love to be able to smoke and cook (low and slow as well as high temperature sear) all in the same package. This grill allows the use of flavored woods to smoke, as well as the ability to exactly control the heat (easy to read gauges on both sides) with the gas grill for longer cook sessions. The surface area is good for small and large groups. I love cooking and smoking ribs on this grill! Ordering and pickup at Walmart was a snap, and the delightful young lady at the counter arranged for it to be placed on a cart, and an associate to help load it in my van. I would buy this grill again in a heartbeat! Ordering online and pick up at Walmart was easy peasy!

This will be my second Char-Griller. The first one lasted 15 years. The side firebox was a little tricky, had to get some longer bolts.

Well built, fairly easy to assemble...used gas grill side and am very pleased. Would like a small "door" on charcoal side for adding wood/charcoal during grilling. Was a great purchase decision.

This grill is great quality, sturdy. Very happy with this purchase. Like having 1 grill with both charcoal propane.

Love it!! I haven't grilled with charcoal in years but wanted to, I did not want 2 grills on my deck. This was the perfect solution. It was easy to put together, we ended up with 2 pieces that did not make sense but consider it a win. The gas grill fired up easily and cooked good. I'm researching ways to smoke and use chips on charcoal side (it's been awhile). The size of both grills is about the size of my last gas grill so no additional space. I'm looking forward to yearlong use.

This is my second Char-Griller. I left my 12 year plus smoker at the house I sold. The new owners will have many more years use. Char-Griller is a quality product. I like grilling on charcoal but sometimes you just want a quicker method, so I opted for the dual function. I ordered it online from Walmart and had it shipped directly to home. So glad I did it since the box was heavy. Everything was intact except for the hardware kit. One side came unglued and half the hardware wound up scattered throughout the box. I found everything except for one washer. It took me awhile to put it together but the instructions were very clear. I was considering adding the side fire box until I discovered that a firebox cost just as much as the grill. I love to smoke so I bought a cast iron box I can use inside the grill. I am looking forward to years of good grilling and eating.

So far everything is working as expected. I added the "firebox", and it takes a little modification to attach. Also, you have a hard time regulating the heat. I would recommend not installing the warming rack in the charcoal side if you're going to use it as a smoker. It gets in the way if you're smoking a bigger piece of meat.

I bought this for my husband. It was a little confusing putting it together and there were not enough washers included, but after getting it together, it's a great grill. It's gotten used every day since he's put it together.
