I dont see much of a difference between Charmin Strong and Charmin Basic essentials Soft, except its $1-$2 cheaper in price! Who wants to pay more money to literally flush it down the toilet!
We used to use regular Charmin soft toilet paper. It was the only thing my husband would let me buy. But after I retired, I decided to try this. There is definitely a difference, but I would say it's a good difference. Not quite as thick and cushy, which means it'll take up less room in my septic tank, and there's not as much lint. However, during the pandemic I was only able to get one ply. It was awful! I only recommend the two ply. It's the only thing we buy now.
I like original Charmin Red/ Strong. I tried Charmin Essential Soft and found it to be good too.. Don't much are for original Charmin Blue/Soft or Charmin Essentials Strong.... Good product and good price... Also the Green package Charmin I think w/Aloe or Lotion is great especially for those special occasions... you know what I'm talking about hahaha......
Great product. But I find it strange that we are supposed to stay at home yet I have to go inside store to purchase this product.
I have lived with sensitivities to products all my life. Now my tween son experiences the same reactions. This is the only product I will purchase for our home. I even pack it when we leave on vacation. Highly recommend this.
I used to really like this tp it was good for the price and soft enough but now it feels like they cheapened out on the essentials soft.. the last pack I bought feels thinner and more rough. Disappointing.
If I could give zero stars, I most definitely would... I have ALWAYS purchased Charmin and was very disappointed to see this thin one ply tp. It is absolutely terrible and a product not worthy of the Charmin name. I understand wanting to offer a more affordable line but this is just a waste of money, so it is not serving the purpose at all.
Charmin recently raised their prices - at least on Walmart - for the 12-pack 'double' rolls (which were excellent!) from average 50 cents per roll or $6, by 40% to $8.30. So I did some research and found these 'Mega' rolls, which work out to the same price per sheet as the earlier 12-pack Double rolls. To start, the essentials 'Soft' toilet player is great and would be rated a 5 star. However, these Mega rolls are absolutely HUGE. Forget all the nonsense of roll 'size' Charmin uses. It's confusing enough between 'double', 'huge' and now 'mega.' These are double the size of the double rolls. They won't fit well in standard rod holders, especially those with a flap or tray and don't store well either in those upright holders. For my kids, I'll need to dig up my older 'double' rolls, which are much more user-friendly. Sadly, given the price jump of the Double, we may just wait for our local supermarket to go on sale or hopefully, just wait for a good deal on Amazon.
Just bought a new pack of Essentials Soft because I ran out. They obviously changed it recently because now there are no imprinted design on the outside of the tp and it is all solid white and feels like 1 ply NOT 2 ply and is no where near SOFT. That word needs to come off the package. Why manufacturers think they can change a product to keep the same price is beyond me. Keep a good product and raise the price if u have to. I guess I will be looking for new tp and what a waste of this 12 pack.
Just as what you advertised. Soft and at reasonable price. I loved this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
