I'm no expert and never applied a ceramic coating before so didn't know what to expect. So i tried the hydro slick ceramic after seeing great reviews. And man oh man were they right. This stuff seemed like i applied a sheet of glass on my truck. Just applied a little bit at a time on the microfiber pads they supply(sell) waited a minute or 2 and buffed it out with a microfiber rag.
I applied to tesla model Y Midnight silver. Outside in cool temp. Small area at a time. Don't wait 1-2 minutes.. wait like 15-20 seconds. I did 3 coats. It looks freaking amazing. Month 3 and car washes are still very easy. I'm expecting I'll reapply every 6-8 months... i don't have garage and my car always parked outside.
Applying the gel was weird at first. I thought it had dried out and was spoiled but after watching closely at some videos it seemed normal. Very crumbly for a gel and overuse leaves small beads that takes longer to buff in. Once I figured out what it needed on the first panel it went much smoother. The immediate finish was impressive but once it "cured" the final finish was very impressive. Slick as glass even on painted plastic trim pieces like the roof racks. I have a black car and it hid small swirls nicely. The best results was after using the hydro quick detail spray. Made the shine much deeper.
Easy to apply. Great results this was an impressive product. I do not know how long it lasts and it was pricey.
So easy to use, and such a great finish! Much easier to do than the C9, so I'll keep using this one.
Great product, would be nicer to have gotten a better price from Walmart rather than the original store. Both places offer this product for the same price so there has to be an incentive to shop with Walmart, rather than original local store.
The hydro slick comes out the bottle like toothpaste and therefore the coating is no even on the vehicle and not as slick as others I have used
I can not rate this product because I never received it, and walmart has refused to replace or refund me for their mistake even after two different representatives promised they would.
I had really high hopes for this product but it just did not meet my satisfaction. The product came out like thick chunky jello (not sure If this is normal or not?). I had a hard time spreading the product thin (actually got the microfiber cloth "stuck" on the product while my hand was in motion and made my wrist buckle. When buffing off after the desired time it was very hard and involved a great deal of force to buff the product off. 2 days later pollen and wet marks from the road stuck to my car and I used a quick detailer spray to clean it up.
I had high hopes for this product. I started with a clay bar, then glaze, then the Hydro Slick. I applied as directed inside my garage. It seemed different than normal wax, maybe a little bit clumpy, but I rubbed it into the paint. I waited 5 mins then tried to wipe it off. It was next to impossible to buff off. It had beads of the wax stuck to the paint, like the wax had separated out. The only way to get it removed was with quick detailer spray. I expected this to be the next evolution to carnuba. I definitely don't recommend it.
