I don't mean to sound like a shill, especially with these types of "temporary fix" products, but if you've got an older vehicle that's kind of stuttering or whatnot, try this stuff out. Don't waste your time/money on any of the cheaper competitors...
We add this after oil changes to keep a cleaner fuel system. This like several other similar products have high amounts of PEA (can look it up) to keep your engines purring smoothly. We also try to fill up with top tier gasoline to keep things running smoother in the long run. This and similar products are recommended by mechanics and car enthusiasts. Walmart has a fair price compared to the other auto centers.
my code reader (bought at Walmart, too) said it was an issue with my Catalytic Converter. I jumped on line, to see what the damage would be. My mechanic, whom I love and trust after 30 years of business, charges $75/hr to start with. Online it said it could cost me up to 2000.00!!! Then I started looking for solutions, like can I take this thing out and replace it myself? I found that I needed to clean the screen inside and it could be done at home. Then I got the bright idea: clean the screen? Is there something I can pour through that will clean the screen? BINGO. and I found this product. At first, I thought I had wasted money 'cause the light did not go out. But one day I was driving and my daughter asked me how did it work. Instinctively, I looked down and, low and behold, the light was out! I simply had not driven enough yet for it to have worked before! After that, my car has run so quietly and efficiently that it felt the way it did when I bought it. You balance a $20 bill against $2000 and you can imagine how I felt. I cannot say enough good about this product. Worth every dime, and now a permanent part of my car maintenance.
This was highly rated for cleaning up your fuel system. Added to half tank and drove until empty. Definitely noticed an improvement in power and responsiveness for my V6 truck. It has 120K miles and was definitely due for some cleaning and this seems to have done the trick.
This fuel system cleaner does wonders! I used two bottles over two gas tank refills on my Buick Encore 2015 that was jerking front and back while accelerating at 40 - 65 mph. It only has about 25K miles or low mileage but it sits a lot since my father did not use it much. After one bottle, I drove it around the neighborhood to try and mix it around. I noticed that the jerkiness was much less noticeable. I drove that tank near empty and did another bottle. In this tank, I only felt the car jerk front and back once during the drive. I have driven it now with a normal tank of gas. I think I will do a third bottle to see if it takes care of that occasional jerkiness now. This cleaner was much less expensive than going to an repair store and has taken care of 97% of the problem. I also used this cleaner in my Lexus ES350 2007 which has about 110K miles. It was not having the jerky problem, but I figured it could use a cleaning since it has been many years since I last used the normal grade of the Chevron Techron cleaner. The car accelerated so much faster, than I had to recalibrate how much I was pushing on the gas pedal because the car has so much more power now.
Researched on the Subaru forums because fuel mileage on our 05 WRX dropped like a rock. You could see the fuel needle going down while driving. Forums said could be O2 sensor problem or dirty O2 sensor. Tried this first before having it replaced. Worked great! Mileage came back better than before the problem. This is now a must have for the old girl. 250,000 miles and still going! Still might have to replace the sensor sometime since it is old too but until then she gets a Techron treat once or twice a year.
My car is a1993 and I'm try to keep it running. I saw a online add for this product and ordered it. IT works great. great price. highly recommend this product.
A fuel system cleaner`s effectiveness is hard to validate, especially if you're not opening up the engine to check. You can search online for independent tests, and most conclude that Tecchron works.
I've used numerous fuel additives in the past. Trying to get rid of a P0420 code for catalytic converter emissions, but this didn't help. Typically very fuel cleaner helps at least when it's still in my tank. The CE light kept coming back with this product. Gonna try a gallon of lacquer thinner now. Thanks Scotty Kilmer!
Ya when i first went to pour it into my car it came out clear then turned black so it thinks was a fake product and it smelled weird too not really a gas smell
