CHI-CHI'S Thick and Chunky Salsa is easily one of the leading salsa brands, and to be able to purchase this at a great price in a smaller size is very useful. Flavorful with a clean, fresh taste, CHI-CHI'S Thick and Chunky Salsa is also a good addition to any recipe that needs a bit more zing. This jar cost me only around $1.28 after factoring in $1 in Walmart cash I received when purchased. Even without the discount this is still a great buy.
Great savings
Very tasty salsa for tacos and anything you use salsa on…taco salad, enchiladas or I've added to spaghetti sauces to punch up the flavor!! My kids like noodles with cheese on it and salsa sauce/spaghetti sauce and taco chips. Their taste buds are pretty good too.
This sauce is just as good as any other brand a lot better price and well worth it the savings and the taste and everything about it you will not be let down! It also is on my grocery list when I run out!
This is a good chip dip! The taste is "medium," but it seems mild to me. There is very little heat, which is what I was looking for. I didn't want a lot of kick. The texture is thick and chunky, like the description claims. It definitely is not just a sauce! I was great with tortilla chips as a snack while watching the Olympics. The chunky texture and mild taste seal the deal for me.
This salsa is one of the best salsas I've had. It's very chunky and you can taste a lot of the ingredients in it! You will not be disappointed!
I think you should be able to taste all the major ingredients and also have the degree of heat you wish. Chi-Chi's does it very well.
First, I got this partially because I wanted a medium salsa and partially because it had Walmart Cash for the purchase, and it was shippable from the Walmart.com warehouse, for free with my W account. . Second, I like spicy hot. If I can't get spicy hot, a standard medium will often do in its place, as medium is often more than half way to hot than mild. I sometimes eat jalapeños straight, green and pickled. I especially like the onions and carrots from the canned pickled jalapeño mixes. . Last, however, this is like a slightly warm MILD rather than a true MEDIUM spicy, it's a little over mild. It's not going to burn your throat out, or, cause you to grab something, anything, to calm the fire, if Medium is to hot for you,. If you like a pinch of spicy in your salsa, this is for you. (This fact is probably why it's not sold in the stores, it doesn't measure up to the medium classification) . Advice: If you want to instantly kill chili-pepper burn, eat a half of a *small or tiny* radish, or just a slice of a fresh one, and it will kill the hottest of heat from hot peppers. I'm not Latino, I'm a gringo, Caucasian, but, I learned this from some friendly Mexicans many years ago that I worked with. But, RADISH won't calm the hot of your tailpipe, just your carburetor and intake manifold. . Will I buy it again? ONLY if I can still get it with the bonus of Walmart Cash again, as I will heat it up with a smoky spicy Dash additive that I use, purchased from . . . . . . . . Walmart.
I like some heat to my Mexican food but not so much that it is overwhelming. At some point it just becomes a chemical burn to me. So when I ordered this “medium” sauce I expected it to have some real heat to it. But it has practically NO heat to me and I'm really surprised by that. I have had other medium taco sauces that were very hot for me. On top of that it doesn't even have a fresh taste to it which it should have. So I reluctantly can't recommend this one.
Came shattered, salsa everywhere. :(
