Ortega Original Thick and Smooth Medium Taco and Enchilada Chili Sauce, Kosher, 16 oz Jar

For my family nothing else compares to Ortega taco sauce. We have tried GV, Taco Bell which are not bad, and others but we have come back to this as our go-to taco sauce. We top our tacos with it and use a little in the beef or even chili hot beans, Mexican casseroles, and other recipes. I like a romaine, tomatoes, onion etc salad with this as a salad dressing. Basically the same stuff that I top my tacos with but as a side salad. Anyway, if you haven’t used it before I think you should give it a try, maybe 8 ounces to start.

This is my go-to sauce for Taco Night at our house! I get the mild for me, but this Medium for hubby; just the right amount of spice (the taco sauce, not my hubby… although he’s spicy, too ;) ) Tastes great, pours and stores easily … I always try to keep an extra bottle in the pantry so we don’t run out!

Delicious on food and also in taco meat . I add about a half cup with my great value taco seasoning mix from Walmart. Really adds great flavor. Try it :) also the jars are beautiful and can be used for many things when cleaned. Hope this helps you , get the big jar, lol.

I don't actually use the taco sauce for tacos, at least not all the time. I make a homemade taco salad dressing that is equal parts taco sauce, ketchup, sour cream and mayonnaise and the Ortega Taco Sauce tastes amazing. I've bought it many,many times and I'll continue to buy it.

LONG REVIEW, Microwave TWO Monterey Brand Burritos 1 minute warm SLICE into 1 inch sections then Microwave 1 minute, Cover in ORTEGA sauce very enjoyable meal. ADJUST times and cuts to please but you will be pleased with results (warm sauce if from Fridge)

Ortega is my favorite brand. This taco sauce contains green chili powder, plus a tomato base with vinegar and paprika. It does resemble ketchup with hot paprika, but it is very tasty. Another name-brand does not contain any chili-pepper ingredients whatsoever, but only "spices." This Ortega is hot, but not burning hot. Nevertheless, a little goes a long ways.

This isxa staple in my house. I prefer the medium. I not only use it on Tacos, and Quesidillas, I make a taco salad sauce by mixing a large bottle of Ortega with an equal amount of Western salad dressing together. Then mix in a packet of your favorite brand of taco seasoning. Refrigerate and use as needed.q

This is my secret ingredient to taking tacos to a whole new level. I use this instead of water when I add taco seasoning to my cooked ground beef or chopped chicken. It's got just a tiny kick, enough to let you know it's there but not enough to have you scrambling for water or milk to cool the heat. Just the right thickness. For 2 lbs of meat, I use 2 pkg taco seasoning and one small bottle Ortega taco sauce. Sometimes have to add a little bit of water if the mix seems dry. Heat through and you're good to go! Skip the drip, add the sauce to the meat, not on individual tacos/burritos.

I liked the flavor and the consistency. It is thick enough that it does not run and the taste is the best commercial brand I have tried.

I love the sauce! But the heavy glass bottle, and the way it pours out is awful. When you pour it it ALWAYS runs down the side of the bottle. Making a mess.
