CHI Professional Steam Iron for Clothes with Titanium-Infused Ceramic Soleplate & Precise Temperature Control, 1700 W, Black

Never heard of this brand but it was highly rated on various websites. Price was more than I wanted spend but I need a very hot steam iron that doesn't leak and has a longer automatic shut off time than my previous irons. So far this iron has met my expectations and is worth the price. I've owned this Chi for less than 2 months, use it at least 4 days/week and hope it will last much longer than my last 2 irons, Rowentas that failed in under 3 yrs of use.

I was a little cautious about buying this iron because I usually buy Rowenta. It was on sale for a great price and had good reviews, so I figured I'd try it. I was not disappointed. It irons beautifully, and the steam power is great.

Fast heating, light weight with a very narrow point. Quite useful when ironing seams on quilting projects Have not used the steam feature as I spray my projects with water or starch, but I'm sure steam will work as well as everything else. Cord is long and swivels

I'm a quilter I also do alterations and some sewing of garments I like a lot of steam and I like the iron to be hot as appropriate for the Garment. this thing has a really long cord that heats up quick gets good and hot and puts out a ton of steam. I'm very happy with it I used the German one for many years and the last one I got was from Germany and it leaked like an sob after about a year. so that one went to the thrift store. these are great irons I never had one with the lava plate and is just because I wanted to try it. I really like the sharp point when you're doing collars or small seams on a quilt.

I just received this iron and couldn't wait to use it. Some of the great features are: * Heats up super quick! * non-slip grip * Nice big heel on iron that stabilizes it when sitting it upright * large water-fill door * self cleaning button for steam setting which keeps the steam vents clear of mineral build up * various settings for fabrics and steam levels * titanium ceramic soleplate which is the same as their hair products giving CHI products their superiority over other similar products. I really loved how stable this iron was sitting on my ironing board. It also has an auto shutoff after 60 seconds if it's sitting on its soleplate or resting on either side motionless for 60 seconds. If it's resting upright on it's heel for 30 minutes motionless, it will also shut off. No more worry wondering if you've forgotten to turn off your iron! This iron glides easily across different fabrics and quickly irons out the wrinkles. I wish this particular iron had a retractable cord but I can put up with that for the other great features. I've had other brand name irons that didn't work nearly as well and costs far more money! I highly recommend this iron!

Such an amazing iron! I use this every morning to iron my shirt, and it is so much easier to use than any other iron I've tried. And it also looks great and feels comfortable while holding it. Very clever of CHI to use their flat iron technology in this clothes iron.

It is great with heat and steam. What I found difficult was every time I would end up turning it off because of the way I would turn it off by accident because the dial is so close to the handle. I had to turn it back on twice. It is really good for the temperature and steam or spaying the garments.

This iron is the best quality iron we have ever owned. We have owned other CHI products (straightener, etc.) and they have always been of the highest quality. That means styling, durability of construction, and operation. I think for the price this iron is a bargain. First of all, you can tell when you remove it from the packaging, that it is made of durable materials. Just the feel of the handle in your hand tells you that. It is not too heavy or light, but just right. Every feature of this iron was well thought out. The sole plate is ceramic and very smooth. The shape of the tip is so that it can get into tight places on your clothes. The controls are clear and easy to grab onto. There are various settings for different fabrics (as on most irons) that are easy to select using the big knob. The steam amount is set by a toggle switch under the front of the handle. It could be easier to get to, but is not really that big of an inconvenience. The buttons for spray and steam are right next to each other with no separation – this can make them easy to confuse when using and you have to look for while to get used to it. The iron heats up quick and lights up when plugged in. It also has an auto off feature if you forget to unplug. The iron is easy to fill without spilling the water thanks to the hole design. The fill hole cover also closes securely. The only feature I miss is a retractable power cord, but this feature on other appliances does not always work correctly. Overall, we love this iron (still do not love the task of ironing though!).
