I have tried the original cholula but had never tried any of the special flavors which included this one until now. While it says sweet and is sweet, the sweetness is extremely balanced and doesn't come across as overly sweet. It also had a bit of a smoky flavor which might be from the habanero, I'll definitely be trying other cholula flavors and highly recommend this one.

Cholula sent me a sample of this Sweet Habanero Hot Sauce for an honest review. I am not a big fan of spicy food; however, this one was good because I have learned that less is more for me with a low pain tolerance. However, my children love that it carries a kick when more hot sauce is added to their food. The reason I gave it 4 star there is no sweet taste to the hot sauce; I was really looking forward to it. If you love spicy food, just add extra drops to your plate.

I really enjoyed this hot sauce! Pineapple and habanero always work well together in my book. The sweetness of the pineapple cuts the heat of the habanero, but it still has a decent kick to it that built and lingered on my lips for a while. I had it on my tostadas last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm sure that the sweetness isn't for everyone, and there are plenty of times I would choose a different hot sauce that isn't sweet, but it's definitely earned a place in my cabinet. This isn't a hot sauce that works well with everything that you might want to put hot sauce on. Because of the sweet flavor it doesn't quite mesh with certain things And it lacks the spiciness of regular habanero sauces that I've used. The sweetness of the hot sauce blends well with fruit based dishes, like pineapple salsa, and you still get that hot sauce Kick, But you'd have to do some experimenting to see what it would taste best with because not all dishes are suited to the sweet flavor that it adds. Overall, I personally wouldn't buy this again as it wasn't a huge hit in my household and I don't cook with a lot of fruity flavors or dishes that this particular hot sauce would compliment.
