Citrusafe BBQ Grill Scrubber with Handle and 3 Heavy Duty Blue Nylon Pads

After getting a painful metal wire stuck in my gum and tongue from the metal grill scrubber, I thought it was time for me to join Canada in eliminating metal scrubbers. At least in my household. This non-metal scrubber works great, with or without help from a cleaning chemical.

This review is for both the CitrusSafe grill scrubber and the CitrusSafe spray grill cleaner, as they both work in conjunction with each other. They both arrived in the same package and I was surprised to see they included a nice can cozy for keeping your beverage cold while you are grilling. I sprayed the grill while it was cool as per the directions, then let it sit for a few minutes. It has a nice citrus/orange smell. Then I broke out the scrubber with one of the 3 included pads and got to work. I like the fact that there are no wire bristles that your food can pick up, as this happened to us before with our old wire bristle scrubber. The scrubber glides very easy over the grates. I then lit the grill and scrubbed one more time and let it burn off. It cleans very well, and I will make this my normal cleaning routine before grilling. I will use a little of the spray each time between grillings (and maybe be more liberal with it every 3 to 5 uses). I am glad to have a spray that is safe and a scrubber that is easy to use and has replaceable pads. Thanks CitrusSafe.

No metal shards to make you sick!! Work good, replaceable, economical, and mainly, they are safe!! Those metal ones leave dangerous metal strands of wire behind that can make you ill / kill you!

The first time I bought this I relized disposable and think it would last long. I have a small grill so I can get about 8 uses, probably more, off of one scrubbing pad. With the amount that I grill, at least once a week summer time and 2 or 3 times a month in winter, 1 box will last about 6 months give or take. The only thing is the scubber get cought and will pull off.

Combined with the right grill cleaners, this heavy duty scrubber works well. It's a good size and easy to hold while being easy to use.

Cleans the grill not spotless but very good

I understand the idea behind this scrubbing tool, but it needs work. The plastic “teeth” that are supposed to hold the scrubbing/scouring pad in place don’t really grip. If you’re constantly applying even pressure, the handle will move the pad back and forth, sure, but as soon as you stop applying pressure and lift it up, the pad falls off. Also, the teeth on the plastic handle are sharp and the scouring pads are extremely rough. Now, I get why they’re so rough, if you’re supposed to use them to clean grill surfaces, but wow- they’re really rough. When you have to keep putting them back “on” the handle, you can literally scrape your hands up. I feel this was a good idea that suffered from poor execution/manufacturing decisions. I don’t think I’ll use it again, unless I need to scrub my carport’s concrete slab.

It did not last more than two cleanings and it kind of like melted almost I would not recommend it. I wish I had not bought it.
