I received this product of Drawing paper the other day and the first thing I noticed was how light it actually felt for being 500 sheets. Its sheets are 9in x 12in, white and very sturdy yet soft to the touch. I did use highlighters on it to see if and how well they would show on the paper. They worked out really well. I plan on trying it as printing paper for my printer as well. It seems as the printers colors would come out really nice on this type of paper. It would be some very good paper to always have on hand.
Perfect for the (grand)kids. Whether they use pencils, charcoal, crayons, felt tip markers, inks, water, acrylic or tempera this paper holds up. Kids can be delicate or aggressive, even with art projects...so if they are the latter (more aggressive) in their demeanor, this paper can overall stand the test. No worries about tearing out of a binded sketchpad as they are individual sheets. Best to keep the art paper in a box (prefer plastic) to protect when not in use from moisture and damage to the sheets. Really suggest, recommend this product by Sax.
I must say I was a little skeptical when I saw this drawing paper. However, I needed something for my kids to use their new set of pastels on and I figured this would work okay. I fully expected to be receiving basically construction paper for them to use. I was pleasantly surprised when they began using their new pastels on this paper. The colors didn't seep through. The colors didn't bleed. The colors did not smear or smudge on this paper as they tend to on typical construction paper. This paper held up to the test of my kids' artistic talents. It did not tear no matter how many different colors they used on it. One of my kids decided to completely cover one entire sheet of paper on one side with a bright pink pastel and it came out beautiful. The color did not fade on this paper. I would most definitely recommend this paper to anyone who enjoys creating their own artwork. We have also used colored pencils and crayons and again, the colors remain vibrant. Very impressed with the quality of this paper.
Sax 50 lb Drawing Paper, White, Ream of 500 Sheets of drawing and painting paper is thick and holds up well for paints. It will work well with any artwork for children and adults. It is a great addition to our home art closet, I have three little artist who enjoy drawing and painting daily. I recommend this drawing paper!
this paper is very very nice . my son cand raw on it , and it works very well wuith water color paints.. we did not try any other kind of paint, as we did not have any on hand, but marker, crayons, and pen and pencils all work great. my soin loves the paper. he loves having a HUGE sac of paper.. (iput it in a cubical so he can grab any at any time he wants.) I highly reccmend this paper ... for kids adults as well...
This paper is thinner than sketching paper found in tables or pads, but is still a very good quality paper. I use it for card making since it holds stamped images extremely well. I have also used it as a mixed media base, utilizing stamping inks, embossing and glitter all on one card. Since it is thinner, it does need to be backed by something heavier, but once mounted stays on securely. It also works well with die cutting, using either a Cuttlebug or Sizzix machine. The thinner dies work well with this paper and leaves a clean, sharp image. Of course, it can be used quite well for water colors; the separate sheets make it useful for handing out paper in smaller classes, without having to go through the annoyance of tearing the paper out of the pad. I reviewed this product as part of a Walmart testing program, but it will be on my purchase list when I need more. With 500 sheets of paper, that may be awhile, but it's well worth buying again and I will do so.
This paper is used for my 7 year old. I got this for him to use since he loves to draw and can go through so much paper at one time. He hasn't used his paints on this paper, so I don't know how it holds up, but with him using his markers, ( he has a heavy hand) it fairs pretty well. 500 sheets of drawing paper can last for a while, but I am not sure how long it would last for someone that draws constantly. I would get this product again and would definitely recommend.
My kids are at the age where coloring books are not making them happy anymore. They want to be able to create their own works of art. This ream of drawing paper has made them (and me) very happy. The paper is white and has a nice texture. It is thicker than copy paper, but not as thick as construction paper. Crayons and colored pencils work perfectly on this paper. Thin markers work well too. The only problem is when my kids use thick markers. Since the color tends to go through the paper, I make them use two sheets. That extra sheet at the bottom becomes the scrap paper. Wasting a few sheets doesn't bother me because there are 600 sheets in the ream. Overall, I would definitely buy this product again. Good quality is important when it comes to my kids and their artwork!
I received white drawing paper...Thinking it was going to be different than copy printer paper. I got this to go a long with the paint set I had ordered. The paper was good quality, I do wish it was a little thicker. Regular copy paper would work as drawing paper too. Not sure if I would buy this brand in the future though.
At first glance, this paper doesn't seem much different than printer paper. It's thinner than I expected- I thought it'd be more like card stock. When using crayons or pencils, though, it doesn't bunch up. It's nice, because you don't have to drag the utensil to make a crisp line of color. With makers, the paper doesn't ball up (think construction paper) or get a wavy appearance. Overall, I'd recommend this type of paper if you do a lot of art- whether with markers, paint, pencils, or crayons.
