The shape and size of the knob makes it hard to line up the screws. This comes from me who worked for Weiser lock for 32 years, whose locks had guides on the inside to prevent this.

Very pleased with purchase

I replaced old brass closet doorknob from 1963, the kind where there are no visible screws, and this fit perfectly as a replacement. The face plate is a little shorter but other than that it seems fine. Of note: the 2 long screws that attach front and back doorknobs is screwed into knob on the inside for delivery, at first it seemed like they were not included but they are there. Just pull apart 2 knobs and unscrew the screws and put them on outside when installing. That is why I only gave 4 stars as I wasted time calling company and looking for long screws.

Do not buy this if you are are using it for a door that gets a lot of use . Very poor quality . Fell apart with in a week . I used it for door between kitchen and laundry room . Laundry room has the back door where I let out my foster pups . So door leading to laundry room gets a ton of use . And this knob just can't take it .
