The ladder bookshelves are a good quality. The stain color is more of a satin finish which makes it look more expensive. It was pretty easy to install.

Well made, easy to put together. Was looking at more expensive shelves but decided to give this a try. So glad I did!

We have ordered several of these ladders. They fit our needs perfectly. The colors don't always match, but that is ok.. not a problem.

I didn't have a lot of room on my wall, and didn't want to have another heavy piece of furniture in the room, but had some books and photos I wanted to display. This shelf is PERFECT. I read reviews that the blue is more teal, and it was just what I wanted.

Bought this for my cookbooks and magazines in the kitchen. It is perfect and is well made. Made 1 phone call to help with assembly. Instructions are definitely sketchy, as mentioned by others who purchased and reviewed. Customer service before purchase was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. This was my first Hayneedle purchase but won't be my last.

Great shelf! Arrived a day earlier than promised, super easy to put together, looks AMAZING! Balances nicely & is very stable. This will not slide around...I have it on stained concrete without needing the wall brace. It arrived with no chips or blemishes. Not sure why people say it was hard to put together, because it was SUPER EASY! For the price, this was a fantastic addition to my mid-century modern house. I bought the green one. Great buy for the price.

This shelf is exactly what I wanted... heavy wood, beautiful finish. It's very minimal and leaves a lot of light where we put it (instead of a big, dark, bulky shelf we had before.) However, it was more than puzzling to put together! I'm pretty quick with figuring out how to assemble most anything, but the directions compared to what I saw as the final product did not make any sense. I did eventually figure it out, of course. But buyer beware... don't expect to get much assembly help from the directions.

Really 2.5 stars. Assembly/directions are not as easy as they should be. The wooden dowels holding the long pieces together broke as soon as I tried to lift the shelf to attach the other side. Luckily the ""tool kit"" comes with wood glue so I could glue the dowels into their holes and the pieces back together. The finishing is also chipped in several places. Looks fine now that it is up, but I am worried about putting to much weight on it.

Very low quality product and overpriced. It came with damage and while it was easy to assemble it is so flimsy that it was damaged further during assembly. So not returnable. Won't buy from Hayneedle again if this is the quality I can expect of the products I purchase from them

I was willing to let the scratched up shelf slide, since the marred area would facing the wall, but that was just the start. Dowel pins to connect the rails were snapped on one side. The glue for the dowels arrived dried up. When I tried to drill a pilot hole to shore up the broken dowels with another screw, the fake wood splintered. Chalk it up to I should have read the reviews. Product is cheap, flimsy and not worth half the price. What a waste of my time.
