Upon arrival, once removed from the packaging, lay then on a flat surface to expand. Yes, the smell is initially intense, but most of that went away in a 24 hour period. They plumped up very nicely within 24 hours as well. I did let them sit out for 2 days, just in case. So far I have not gotten a neck ache, even though they are bigger than my old pillows. The smell remains ever so slight, but nothing I can't live with.

I really like a very firm pillow and these are very firm. Even if they soften up over time they'll still be very supportive. Well made and the cooling works for a while but as in all pillows warms up. Very glad I bought them.

It's very firm- nice quality. They ship in space bags- takes a day for the pillow to expand shape. But very firm. I put a 2 on soft, they are soft cover, but not squishy soft.

The pillow did not sink down when put my head on it. I usually use two pillows to raise my head even for my spine. I am a side sleeper. Now I can use 1 pillow that can keep my alignment just right. Highly recommend. The cool side stays cool. I prefer the cool side for my comfort…

This must be some kind of joke! Best part about this is the pillow case, it is cooling.. that's all. These pillows are flimsy and just flop... last king size cooling pillows I bought were from another place and were so thick I've had to keep taking stuffing out!! This is what i get trying to save 6 dollars.. yeah..nope this crap is getting RETURNED!!! Will be reordering the original again.. lesson learned..

This pillow is extremely to firm abd hard for me. It would've been a great pillow if it wasnt for that. I liked everything else about it. So if you like a REALLY hard and firm pillow with no squish or give, this os the pillow for you.
