Cortland Silverstream Fly Fishing Rod, 8Ft, 5/6 WT, 602755

I am new to fly fishing but have fished for several years with spinning, baitcasting and spincast rods/reels. Wanted to give fly fishing a try but didn't want to spend too much in case I didn't like it. This was the cheapest rod I could find. It is a bit heavy but has a moderate fast action to help propel the fly line. It is rather heavy but the handle is nice. Note that it is not the tan fake cork handle in the pictures it is EVA foam. But it is fine. Still learning to cast but if you want to dip your tows into fly fishing this is a very affordable way to do it.

For the price of $15 it's a great starter rod, casts well, pair with a maxcatch eco reel and you have a setup for under $50. Well worth it to start.

Great beginner rod. Well packaged and durable. We fitted ournold fly rod on here and it performed very well

Rod seems to be well made. It is a bit stiff and the top eyelet seems to grab line in a strange way. Overall, I think it's decent especially for a beginner fly Rod.

price is great, good feel. did not get to use it yet. if they had a 9 1/2 foot one i would buy it also.

The rod cast softly but for someone just starting to fly you cannot beat the price.

This thing as a mess of fiberglass fibers in the plastic package. Poor packaging made this rod rub against itself. What a mess. Don't buy this cheap rod in terrible packaging
