I have had this item before. I had it for over $10 years! Works great, never broke. It was stolen. This replacement is exactly as before! Workmanship is great! The only thing I would improve is the tiny wheels on one side. They are too little and often rough rolling. I can replace these easily in the future!
I'm a part-time personal shopper and there are times when the items on my customers list are rather heavy. To get these items from my car to my customers doorstep this hand truck really does help! I've used it several times and I've realized a few things that could improve it's use. The wheel should be a little more chunky in order to be used on different terrains. Also, when it's in the cart position the handle sits a little too low and that says a lot since I'm only 5'2"! Overall, the cart is easy to fold, durable and accomplishes the goals that it was purchased for. I would definitely purchase it again! However, I don't think I'll have to because it's well made and durable! 💪👍
I love how compact this is when you store it and it's super light and convenient for even my young teenager to use. Converts to either a dolly or a hand truck in seconds (though takes some practice) with the handles and levers clearly labeled. Also, one thing I really appreciate being tall (6' 1") is that when its in cart position, the handle is at a perfect height. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a light duty dolly / hand truck.
Being a single lady I sometimes need a helping hand..truck with heavy boxes or bags. The ease of operating the Cosco Hand Truck is exactly as described in the commercial. It easily transfer from a hand truck to a cart; when moving heavy items from my car to the house there is no issue with the tires rolling over a high threshold as a cart or hand truck. I am very satisfied with my purchase of the Cosco Shifter folding hand truck/cart and the price was budget friendly.
This compact dollie is easy to manuver with heavy items on it. It took me a few times to use it before I got hang of how to open & close it, but the good news is that the directions are on the dollie for people like me. P.S. watch your fingers and the front wheels when closing...ouch! Just as sturdy as a regular sized dollie, but weighs alot less. To me its kind of like picking up 1 to 2 gallons of water, alot better than picking up 50 lbs. Saved my back!
This is exactly what is needed by vendors. This product transports easily by not having to devote a large space in my van. Very, very well made and easy to convert for specific use. I am amazed at the capacity of this unit. .
Watch the on site video for a good demonstration. There are lighter dollies out there and there are stronger dollies out there. This is a nice middle grade cart. Good handle height when upright. Little short when on 4 wheels...I'm 6 foot. Strong, sturdy and compact.
Only used this once so far, so longevity and heavy work haven't been tested yet. That said: Pros: * This is very smooth to pull around, as a cart or hand truck. * Light weight, when you have to pick it up over big steps. * Folds up to a small unit, and can be hung up on a wall easily. * Easy to set up and take down, though a bit tricky at times. * Nice finishes, no burrs, or chatter on the plastic bits. * No odd or offensive smells, either. I'd read some other brands stunk, but this one is fine. Cons: * Smaller wheels, means a rough ride if you're on rough terrain, and stairs are a problem. We found that just grabbing the bottom to carry it up stairs was faster, and easier than expected. I'm 60 yrs old & female, and had no problem carrying the bottom, while the old man grumbled from the top. : ) * Collapsing it down to store is easy, but tricky, and fingers could get hurt if you're not careful. It's not that intuitive, and the directions are nowhere to be found, so it takes a bit of trial and error to get it up and down a few times, before you figure it out. Overall, Hubby had a fit about wheel size, and if you're looking for heavy duty work, or doing a lot of stairs, that's a valid issue, but we're going to a 1-story home soon, so it won't be an issue for us. I need it for dragging salt bags to the water softener, or mulch to the yard, etc, and it will be great for that. Hanging it up out of the way is a very cool option, and worth losing an inch or two on wheel size, to me. (FYI the back wheels are about 5", and the smaller front wheels are about half that. I didn't measure, just eyeballing it.) I love it, hubby is still grumbling.
It's very hard to open,as far as the wheels, be careful closing them ( keep fingers out of the way ) they spring back quickly and hard . Use something to push the wheels closed due to damaging your fingers . Overall it's compact for easy storage.
It's easy to fold open and shut and light weight, fits easily in the trunk of my care even with other stuff already in there and I have a small car. The only draw back is that the wheels are small and this makes it difficult to maneuver on stairs. On flat ground it does a good job at hauling heavy big items. On stairs, however, I could only haul things I can basically carry without the dolly. I had another dolly that was not fold-able but the wheels were bigger and it was really easy to take heavy things up and down stairs. I will keep this one because it's still good for smaller jobs.
