The old hammered style lure was a better lure because it reflected more light in both the silver and gold. The original gold hue was the best in saltwater. The gold color was changed to a darker shade and now the stamping has changed. Would love to see you change back to the originals

awesome lure. Looks like wounded baitfish as they flash in the water. Cast very far. Also you get 2!

Seems to be well made but haven't tried it yet. My review is based upon my impression so far.

We've been using the CC Spoon for over 15 years in the upper Gulf of Mexico. They catch everything that hits a silvery bait fish: Spanish mackerel, kings, reds, ladyfish, jacks, and even bottom fish suich as grouper and snapper. We have called them superspoons for all these years because they are that good!

We hammered speckled trout on these the other day in Everglades National Park. Using a medium speed retrieve over grass flats in 2-5' of water. I tie it to a fluorocarbon leader with a loop knot to get the maximum wobble. The speckled trout were eating both the gold and silver colors. I like the 3 inch, 3/4oz.

My son and I as well as my wife have now been using the CC Spoon in the upper Gulf of Mexico for several years (since 2003). It's a secret weapon. Just pulled more Spanish mackerel over the pier rail yesterday than anyone else! They catch any fish that eats baitfish - king mackerel, jacks, bluefish, ladyfish, redfish, even bottom fish like grouper and snapper. My son has a very long list! I won't go out out without a sizable stash of them and with at least one rod rigged and ready. I use them with only a fluorocarbon leader unless the fish are hitting anything. I lose some to the teethy macs, but get many more hits. Always a few rigged with wire too. We have called them "superspoons" for all these years because they are that effective.

Good value for the money, good action. Finish can get dull sooner than some other spoons but I use mine in salt water a lot, so I might be a bit unfair here.

The old style CC spoon was a true hammered spoon. Will Cotton Cordell return to the old style that was discontinued about 3 years ago ?
