First time I've purchased an Air Purifier for allergies. I have an 80 lb dog and three cats so I purchased two for my home. It's very quiet. I've used one for the last week and am happy with the results, pet dander bothers my allergies. Easy directions for set-up. Arrived earlier and box was not damaged.
I recently adopted a dog and found myself sneezing a lot at home. I bought a Honeywell air purifier for my bedroom-it works fine- a little ugly and loud. So much so, I decided to actually do some research. Read reviews on the Conway hepa air purifiers and decided to try one out for the living room. Very nice. It is quiet unless at top speed, and sleek looking (compared to the Honeywell that looks like a AC unit that got flattened). My sneezing has stopped, and I appreciate that it just runs, very quietly. Super easy to set up and the controls are logical. I have now bought 2 more for my office (due to Covid 19) to help filter the air as I have no windows in office and a lot of people moving through. Very much recommend!
I vaporise an herb that tends to smell funny. As soon as the small, wisp of vapor leaves my lips the Airmega (in auto mode) kicks on the red light and works for the next 10 minutes clearing the room. I once had mild flatulence and Airmega didn't judge; it just did what it was made to do; create perfectly clean air.
The Airmega 200M seems relatively small, but does manage to pull a lot of dust and pollen out of the air in our bedroom. It's a good unit for an average-sized bedroom. Occasionally, it's gone on full blast with the high speed fan when in Smart Mode - usually means there's dust or particulates in the air. At one point, though, it wouldn't stop. Opening the small air monitor door on the side of the unit and blowing it out with a blast of compressed air eliminated of the problem.
It is very much like the Coway Mighty, but with a different grill. It is about as quiet and works well in my bedroom. I like the ability to turn off the air quality sensor light at night. You just hold down the ionizer button for 3 sec or so. This is my fourth Coway and it helps me deal with allergies.
I purchased this air purifier just before Christmas because I'd been sick with pneumonia and wanted to be sure I did everything I could to prevent my family from getting sick, too. The machine runs fairly quiet even on high speed. I like the way the light color changes when there are contaminates in the air. I've only seen this once and it quickly changed back to blue. The filters are easy to install and last for several months.
Purchased this Coway 200M and a Honeywell HPA300 at the same time both from Walmart. Read reviews of both units from many sites before purchase. The Honeywell was recommended on CR Reports and the Conway was not but was a highly recommended on many other sites and a amazon favorite. Both came packed well and all filters were individually sealed wrapped. Both had easy set up instructions, and both operate very well and have similar filter set ups. If you have pets you may want to consider the Coway as it has a additional washable reusable pre-filter that will collect the hairs etc. The coway I use in my office as it is a smaller unit. The only thing I do not like is it is too loud on high fan. I only run it on high first thing in the morning to give the room a good clean and after 5 min. turn down to medium fan which is wonderful. The differnce between med and high is too drastic. It would be nice to have a setting between, but it is what it is. You will not want to run this unit on high especially if you have company over, want conversation, etc. It is too loud, but I do like it for fast clean of an environment. The Honeywell is perfect on all levels and the fan on high setting is what use in my room at night. It does have a turbo setting which would be comparable to the high setting of the Coway, so I am able to do the same if wanting to fast clean an environment. The Honeywell is almost twice the size so if that matters beware, however it is not overall too big just bigger. Both are easy to move and carry. The Honeywell only comes in black. I like them both for different reasons, mostly glad I have the smaller white unit for the office and the Honeywell goes good for my bedroom situation. Either will do the Job, but I will say this the Honeywell gets the edge for the better fan levels, more quiet high setting with the turbo option if you need to kick it up a notch. Hope this helps.
The fan is smooth and the air seems cleaner in my room, however the light indicator in one of the two units I bought doesn't work, so it's unclear what level of air quality it is achieving.
Product off-gassing is terrible, makes air-purifying ironic and ridiculous. After reading so many reviews and positive things about this brand and product I both 2 different models from different retailers. When I opened both packages I could not believe how bad these items off-gas. I had to open all windows and air out the room. This strong chemical off-gassing is not just unpleasant, it makes air-purifying ironic and ridiculous. It makes no sense to purify the air in a room when the purifier smells so strongly of plastic being off-gassed in the room. This makes me wonder how honest or real reviews are. Once again, the product could be great at cleaning smoke off a room in a lab test, but it can not be a healthy product itself when it smells like that. And I got 2 different times so it's not just a defective item. I couldn't believe that Wirecutter (NYT) reviews didn't consider or mention this key aspect. Disappointing and a huge waste of time. This item it's also big and a pain to return.
This purifier has an LED that indicates air quality, and in Automatic mode, it turns itself on and off as if it was doing something. However, the air quality, measured with a PM 2.5/PM 10 meter close by, is no different when the purifier is on for a few hours or when it's off. The reading is 25-30, which while not bad is not good either. So dont't bother buying this; it doesn't purify the air.
