I watched so many post about the deep blade during the veneer event. I was working to many hours to participate but made a mental note. I work in a factory for kitchen cabinets. Long story short I work with veneer every day. I decided to give it a try. I love it. I definitely need more practice but looking forward to seeing what I can make with it.
It cuts leather less than 2 mm thick without problem, but works best if the piece of leather is small and well taped down to the cutting mat. If the piece is too big, then it tends to stretch the fabric creating wrinkles and bad cuts. Still practicing with it, but it's doing the job.
We used the Deep-Point Blade and Housing to cut through craft foam and thinner cardboard pieces. It cut like a champ! It cut through material easily. Definitely would recommend.
Excellent blade for fine cutting vinyl and other materials. I'm still learning about the uses of the three different blades that the Cricut Maker 4 uses. But so far, I really like the deep blade for most materials that I'm cutting.
Works very well for cutting tooling leather. Cuts are sharp and clean. Tooling leather must be properly cased.
I just purchased the Maker 3 Bundle and couldn't pass up the warehouse deal. I haven't had the chance to use this yet but I am sure it won't disappoint!
I look forward to trying this. Havent had a chance yet, but got it for Christmas and am ready to find all the new possibilities I'll have with this blade.
No issues with the product. However I think the description of what the actual functional difference between this and the fine point blade need to be improved on. The thickness range isn't very specific, and it would be good to know which blade is harder for longevity purposes.
I'm not sure if cricut sent me a faulty blade or if they are all this poor, unfortunately out of the 6different blades that I have purchased since Christmas this is the only one that I have communication issues with. The machine will only recognise this blade 10% of the time and the amount of leather I have wasted in the other 90% of deboss and cut projects is off the chart. In general I have been really impressed with cricut products but I find this blade to be dreadful and I dread each time I need to use it because I never know if it will be accepted by the machine which one only finds out half way through the project. On the odd times it has been accepted it has sometimes dragged rather than cut leaving more waste. I find it a frustrating waste of resources, time and not of the standard/quality of the other cricut products I have purchased and I've been on quite a purchasing spree this month setting up my lovely and much wanted Christmas present.
I cut 1/8 balsa wood on the default setting, but blade only cut about one half to two-thirds way through the wood. I will be experimenting with it on different setting.
