We bought this for our family meals due to our bigger 6 qt was too big. We don't make or eat large amounts anymore and the 6 qt wasn't being utilized much because what we fixed didn't fill it half way. This 4.5 qt doesn't have the features of the 6 qt, but adequately holds our food with no wasted areas not being utilized.
Perfect size crockpot, like the digital control instead of the high low, able to cook it from four hours to eight hours and keep it warm. Easy to clean and does not take out much room. Quality of the crockpot is above average. Have had one for years, in fact, the same crockpot, but gave it to a friend that needed one.
Not too big. Not too little. Some others claim to be 4qt but only hold 3.5qt. The tilt back lid is sweet. So is the oven grade silicone lid seal which some others don't even have. It automatically drops to warm after 4-6hrs on high or 8-10hrs on low. So, you can start it, go to work, etc., and not worry. Easy lid removal for cleaning. Perfect size for one to three people, those with limited space, or just don't need or want the larger models.
I really like this CrockPot. It's basically an upgraded version with the exact same features as my old one that stopped working. Simple and easy to use, and the lid being attachable is great. My only concerns/complaints is that it's HOT and the steam coming out when opening the lid really needs to be paid attention to. The low, 10 hour setting boils any liquid! Thankfully I work from home so I'm pretty much always here to watch it, but it cooks an entire roast to fall apart in about 5 hours. I haven't even bothered to use the medium or high settings and will likely never use it while I'm away from home.
I had a similar crockpot with this lid and loved it. I really liked the 4.5 qrt. size as for two people, it is sufficient. Recently, after 5 years it just quit working so this one is the only one I found that was comparable - including- the lid area. My slight problem was it had to be shipped and only the "item" box was used with a plastic bag. It clearly should have been inside an actual shipping carton! It took quite a shipping beating! The inside Styrofoam holder was broken in two pieces. The bottom of the pot on one end was dented in. I chose to keep it as the crock itself was not damaged although am disappointed in the shipping!
i love the size of it. It is very easy to use. I do not like the handles on the lid. They are hard to open, and I broke one side off, trying to open the lid.
This crock pot gets too hot on both 8 and 10 hour (LOW) settings. My ribs came out so dry the first time I used it. My second time using the crock pot, I used a recipe that I've done several times in my old Crock Pot, which I broke. The meat fell apart but was very dry which has never happened. I have a temperature probe and it showed the meat at 265° at only one and a half hours in to the 10-hour cook. Even just the warm setting maintains at 210° (Pic shown below on LOW and its 219°). Threw away box after it got hot so can not exchange as I believe this may be an isolated defect from reading the reviews and reading up from the manufacurer's responses.
when setting crockpot for 2 hours it automatically jumps to 10 hours low! I purchased for my son he returned it to Walmart, Walmart wouldn't return because it wasn't in the original box! This is ridiculous! was purchased as a gift, my son through box away assuming it was going to work but, its a horrible product it will not stay on a chosen setting, evidently its stuck on 10 hours low! dont waste your money! Walmart your return policy sucks!!
Delivery box severely damaged. Bought Ada bridal gift. Looks like it was dropped. How do I start a return and get a return label for ups store drop off?
I used it once. The second time I used it , you couldn't set the time to cook. It kept rotating to different time settings. Very disappointed in this slow cooker. If you can't set a time to cook, you can't use it.
