Great little BMX bike with the 18 inch wheels and the green on black just pops. I was surprised by the quality given the inexpensive sale price. Most surprising for me was the weight. I was expecting a tank like the department store BMX's you'd find back in the '80s and '90s. Even though it's a "high-tensile" steel bike and not chromoly, I'd say it's well under 30 pounds (just looked it up and a listing says 26.5 lbs!). You'd have to pay big money for a GT or a Mongoose chromoly bike back in the day to get anything approaching that (I remember 25 lbs was considered to be ultra light back then). I know it's smaller than those, but still, pretty light for what it is and plenty strong. I rode it a bit and did a little bunny hop and it took my 175 lbs just fine. Everything felt firm and tight. Which brings me to my caveat. My son is upgrading from a department store 16 inch bike, which was just getting ridiculously small for him. I figured this bike would be just a little bit bigger, especially considering the fact that he's a hair under 4 ft., smack dab in the middle of the height chart for this bike, but it's actually a whole lot bigger than the other one, to the point where I can get on it and ride it semi comfortably being 6 ft tall. The little one he was riding has a 12.75" top tube and this one is a huge jump to 17.5", so it's going to take some getting used to and growing for him to feel comfortable on it. This doesn't mean it's a bad bike by any means, but bear that in mind when ordering one. It's a lot bigger than I expected for an 18 inch wheeled bike. Oh, one other thing I almost forgot to mention is that the little bolt on the seat post is a bad setup. The hardware is cheap, and the allen hex is small, so I had a hard time getting it tight enough to hold the seat post firmly in place without stripping the head. Ultimately I did partially strip it, so now I have to hunt around for a replacement. Minor issue, but kind of annoying. Maybe the manufacturer will read this and just throw a slightly different fastener setup in that spot. It's just a seat post, so hardware quality doesn't need to be high, but because of that little hex, you just can't crank on it hard enough. Otherwise initial quality seams tip top. The frame looks and feels really good, same with the forks, sprockets, cranks, pedals, and wheels, and the gooseneck and handlebars are way better than anything I could afford as a kid. I especially like the way the gooseneck and handlebar mesh with each other so that even if you just have the bolts finger tight it doesn't want to rotate. We were constantly fighting the old school version of this and carried tools in our pockets for those inevitable times that the handlebar moved doing jumps and tricks. With this one I think the metal will bend or break before it rotates in there. Very good design. If your kid is just getting started, don't hesitate to buy this, especially at the sale price. I would've killed for this bike as a kid.

Fairly easy for my husband to put together. Good instructions. includes tools. I helped hold tires while centering them between brakes. Note: DESPITE PHOTOS SHOWING THEM, THIS BIKE DOES NOT COME WITH PEGS. And the thin plastic chain guard is unneeded for a BMX bike. Discard IMO.

My son loves this bike. He likes that he can pedal backwards. Assembly was straight forward, and the blue color is beautiful. Seems to be a sturdy bike. Would definitely recommend.

I bought the bike for my son and he absolutely loves it. Have not had one issue with it and it was very simple to put together.

I didn't know the bikes were coming unassembled. When they came I didn't open them just decided to start a return because I didn't want to try to assemble them so I can't comment on the bikes themselves but only the service I received in returning them which was a big hassle as Fed Ex wanted a return slip for each bike I was returning and I was only provided one. After almost an hour in Fed Ex I asked both the Fed Ex employee and the person I was chatting with, who issued the return label, if the bikes could be zip tied together and the one return label used. Both agreed and finally we were moving forward so I could get home and the employee of Fed Ex could close the store (he was helping even though they had closed, which is commendable and made my experience less frustrating as I didn't want to have to come back to finish the return). This return experience is not what I needed a week before Christmas and other issues with Walmart products not arriving as expected and still waiting to receive an item which looks like it won't make it before Christmas has been stressed filled and not something I want to experience again.

If the child trys to do any tricks on the bike the front tire pops have had it less than a month and have had to replace the inter tube 3 times poor quality
