Cuisinart 12 Cup Classic Programmable Coffeemaker, Black, DCC-1120BK

I bought this about a month ago to replace my old Cuisinart coffee maker, which while still working, had seen better days. I think this is going on my 3rd one over many decades. Reliable as always. Great product for a reasonable price. Plus, I'm very glad it came with the gold filter so I didn't have to make a separate purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This new and improved coffeemaker is wonderful! It makes great coffee. We are very happy with it, after our previous Cuisinart coffeemaker went kaput after 5 years.

My wife and I are both very pleased with the filter coffee machine. It replace a beloved machine of another make but we like this for many reasons. The hot plate keeps the coffee at the right temperature for 40 minutes as opposed to 24 with the old one. It brews quicker and although you need paper filters it keeps the sludge away from the bottom of the mug. So it’s a thumbs up from us.

This is my third Cuisinart coffee maker for a reason, it brews the best coffee! I have no complaints with the product, but I am a little disappointed with the esthetics, it could have been designed with a more stylish image, and a smaller clock, that doesn't glow a big bright blue, not very sophisticated or classy, which is what this product deserves!

I've used a Cuisinart 12 cup for 20 years and it worked very well, turning out many fresh brews without problem. I finally damaged it by accident and needed a replacement. So I purchased another of the same item that had served me so reliably for so long.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased July 2026 in order to break away from Keurig coffee makers that I've owned the last 15 years. It's a lot more trouble however, but totally acceptable for getting away from the plastic in my coffee produced by plastic coffee pods. One drawback for me is the carafe because its design doesn't fully allow total emptying of water after rinsing or washing it as it stays inside the rim, thus requiring a bit more work.

Pretty good coffeemaker although I would recommend using the filters in the basket . I tried using the chrome one only without the paper filters and got "sand" in the bottom of the cup.. Immediately went and bought the paper ones to use.

Most important to me is a great tasting cup of coffee, which this coffee maker does. I love the auto shutoff feature and the timing I can select. Even after 3 hours the coffee tastes good. The price was great when using store coupons. I have no problem with pouring water in the well. Most annoying to me is the coffee basket setup. I have to check, check, and double check that the basket snaps down in place before starting the machine. I've had water filling the basket and not dripping through. I've also had coffee grounds splashing underneath the lid leading to extra cleanup. I dislike the color of my white Cuisinart (black color was not available), because of constant cleanup. However, it does show me any flaws. All in all, it does make better tasting coffee than my past, less expensive machines!

This is my third 12 cup classic coffeemaker. I continue to buy it because it’s white, it looks great in my kitchen and if history repeats itself I can expect it to work well for at least two years. The previous two worked about three years, they had problems with programming and would turn on and off intermittently. But hey, it looks good.

Absolute garbage. Bought one less than a year ago, after several months it started clicking on-and-off while trying to brew coffee, I took it back to the store and exchanged it for another one. This new one has lasted just 3 months before a similar failure. These are used in a clean modern kitchen with good wiring, never submerged or exposed to anything that should cause this. In addition to being cheap junk the blue display is stupidly bright, it illuminates the entire kitchen, if you like that sort of thing cool, I didn't. I dropped this coffee maker in the trash can along with my faulty Cuisinart immersion blender. This is the last Cuisinart appliance I will waste my money on.
