I love coffee made from freshly ground beans. I had another grind & brew, that finally died after 15 years of use. A friend had a Cuisinart, and was happy with it, so I was encouraged to go this way. I am very pleased! It is smaller than other models (including my recently deceased one), easy to clean, and is quieter than my last one. And, the coffee is great! Highly recommend.
After 15 years I replaced my Grind & Brew 12 Cup with the same model, except the front is stainless steel instead of all black and much more attractive! The only reason I replaced my old one was I inadvertently threw away the lid to the filter basket. Rather than try to find/ purchase a replacement lid/basket assembly, I thought, “What the heck? Im just going to buy a new coffee maker!” So sad because my old one was still going strong, though a bit worn. But I love the new one just like my old one. I love the option of grinding whole coffee beans, which is my preferred method, or using already ground coffee, which comes in quite handy at times. I love the simplicity of using this coffee maker. Yes. One must clean/rinse and dry the basket and container holding the coffee beans after each use. But so worth it and so reasonably priced.
In the end, I think I wish I had bought the simplest machine, but I also breathe a sigh of relief every time I buy a pouch of coffee beans, knowing that all I have to do is pop them in and the machine does the rest. Most delicious at home coffee I have ever made.
This is our third grind-n-brew coffee maker - they last about five years in daily service. The device delivers outstanding freshly brewed coffee, and because it grinds a pot at a time, a wide variety of coffee flavors are easy to make. We love the system.
Loved my old Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee maker. After over 15 years of great service it finally died. Replaced it with this new model and, so far, am again enjoying getting up to a pot of freshly brewed coffee from freshly ground beans. Like the coffee basket, eliminating need to use a paper filter.
I am now on my fourth iteration of this amazing machine. Like anything else, they eventually wear out, and my first machine was gifted to me, I think, in 1994? My kitchen has not been without one, and I have used one of them every single day since then. They have changed things very little over the decades, which means I still have parts that were NOT worn out. I'm picky about grind, picky about water temp, and picky picky picky about brewing. The full-on complete "whole bean to cup" experience cannot be beat.
I purchased this unit to replace a DGB-625, which developed a leak after 15 years of reliable running. This unit has a goldtone filter, which I like and which wasn't included with the DGB-625 when I bought it. However, the build quality is slightly lower. The door to the filter feels loose when I open it, whereas that door to the DGB-625 was solid. Nevertheless, the new unit is working well and producing very good coffee. I can certainly recommend it.
I purchased this coffee maker because I wanted to have a really good cup of coffee. I like the idea that you can put the beans in and have it grind and brew. Making coffee from fresh ground beans does produce a wonderful cup of coffee. I have used this for a couple weeks now and I truly am happy with it. The coffee has a deep Rich flavor. I would give it five stars except one thing. It is a 12 cup coffee maker, but the bean grinder only allows you to brew up to 8 cups. Otherwise I would give this five stars. Overall, this is a great product.
Best temp so far is 185 degrees. Hoping for a little higher as advertised but not a deal breaker. Also lid to the carafe will not lock in place. Have to be sure it is in proper position when placing into apparatus. Overall it is working well and one of the easiest grind and brew to clean.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only reason this gets 3 stars is that it makes excellent coffee. We have owned 2 other coffee makers with built in grinder, but this one is by far the worst design. You have to clean out the container where you put your coffee beans every time because the steam from the coffee making goes back up into the coffee bean container making it a mess. This grinder is Very Loud enough to wake up the whole house, our previous burr grinder wasn't this loud.
