I used D2 for headstones that have mold / mildew on them. Have tried others but D2 works best for me. Does go a long way when using a spray bottle. Usually two coats will do the job, spray and leave on. Do wear eye protection and gloves. it can be irritating if exposed to skin and / or eyes.
It worked better than anything else and didn't require too much actual effort. We put it on, let it sit, scrubbed it around, and rinsed. It did a fairly nice job on most of it. On some darker streaks we did a second application, and per instructions we left it for a few months to lighten up on its own over time, but after 6 months I can still see the darker streaks, so maybe those are permanent. But overall pleased. A little pricey but will go a long way.
I highly recommend using this product with a soft brush on monuments but the price at Walmart is sky high. I'm purchasing 5 gallons for a total of 223.02 at Beeks chemical in fort mill vs over 70$ for one gallon via Walmart. Jug was leaking when received.
I was told that the D2 would be delivered on Thursday, June 11. Because I wanted to use the product out of state and needed to leave for my trip on Friday, June 12, I was very disappointed to learn later on June 11 that it at wouldn't be delivered until Friday, June 12 at 3 PM. Lesson learned not to trust Walmart delivery system.
We used this product to clean our mom's headstone, had a lot of lichens and dark dirty areas. Worked wonderful with a bit of soaking and softer brushes without harming the granite. Stone is now clean and debris free. Shipping was great packaging was really protective and no damage. Highly recommend
Fantastic product. Grave stones were very dark and faded. Completely clean and clear. Only one treatment. I still have enough for next spring. I seen a veterans stone that was faded. I sprayed it once. I can't wait to see it the next time I visit the cemetery.
This stuff works incredibly well. Be patient! Spray it on and let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then start the cleaning process. It is a bit pricey for the amount you get, but you don't need much so a little goes a long way. Great product! I should have taken before and after pictures, but had so much work on 9 family headstones I forgot to. Huge difference and took the mildew, moss, and water stains right off.
There was nothing to dislike! I purchased this after reading about it in my research to find out how to clean our family's gravestones-which we have been washing with mild soap and water and LOTS of elbow grease with poor results. This product worked like a miracle! And. It continues to clean and protect after we go home! I ll be buying more of this for sure! It also killed the lichen off of a storage tent we have that was getting destroyed.
This product is recommended for gravestone cleaning. I have been taking care of several family graves and wanted to clean up the stones that have become covered with mold and lichen over time. As expensive as this is, the large bottle of D2 was the best value and I like that it is ready to use and does not need to be mixed with anything. The gallon size will fill my spray bottle many times and will last me all season.
This is great stuff if you follow the directions. It's used by the National Park Service for Arlington Cemetery and other US monuments. That's a heck of an endorsement. The drawback is cost, the stuff is expensive!
