This repair kit worked perfectly in this situation. The cast-iron flange had been broken for quite some time, if you're careful and you follow the instructions it should work fine for you. You have to be serious about cleaning the mounting area. If you're the slightest bit handy, this should be a piece of cake for you. This is a brilliant gadget that should serve for many years.

The Danco HydroSeat Toilet FlangeRepair Kit, Plastic (10672X) is actually constructed of black powder coated metal (not plastic) with built-in toilet bolts and a blue rubber downspout which inserts into the sewer line. This is a great fix for old deteriorated or broken closet flanges. It can even be used to level out or raise irregular uneven below floor level flange situations. It screws (wood screws included) to the substrate floor with four built in anchor feet. If you have tile, concrete, or missing substrate you'll need to anchor it differently or replace the missing substrate. You still need to use a wax ring with this item and fora complete waterproof seal I recommend a thin wax or other waterproof sealant between the black metal toilet flange and the blue rubber downspout in addition to yor desired thickness wax ring atop the HydroSeat' blue rubber downspout. The listing photos are accurate and the item delivered promptly in new condition.

My husband was very pleased to find this product at WalMart. He was planning to replace the toilet flange and was glad to see this one with extra wide rim to help with the function of it.

It raises the flange off the floor for obvious reasons. I wish they would provide a waterproof pvc two piece circle that would/could be placed below the toilet to prevent rocking. Can't get the bolts tight enough with the bowl raised up off the floor. I've rigged a solution though not great. However, this was a godsend and saved me a ton of money when the toilet broke off at the flange due to a person falling in the bathroom. So I'm grateful.
