No other dish soap is better than Dawn for squeaky clean dishes. It really does cut through grease and is great to spot clean stubborn laundry stains. I also tried several cleaners on my return air cover, to no avail. I finally tried Dawn and it looked brand new. Dawn is an amazing cleaner and I love what their product does in saving the precious birds and wildlife afflicted by oil slicks!

Dawn Dish Soap has been a key degreasing kitchen cleaning solvent since 1973. I use this stuff for two things. First it's a great cleaning soap for anything in the kitchen, from cooking pans and utensils to serving dishes and flatware. For home use this product alone can be used with warm water to clean dishes. Since I have a dishwasher, I use Dawn to pre-clean dishes, getting build up and grim off of plates, pots, %26 pans before they go into the dishwasher. No need to wash off the fine layer of soap before it goes into the dishwasher. That said, do NOT use this as dishwasher soap! If you try this Dawn will suds up and once the dishwasher has finished its programmed cleaning cycle, your dishes will be coated in a residue of Dawn and your sink will be filled with a couple of feet of Dawn bubble suds. (Yes, I've seen this done once in real life). It will then require you to cycle the dishwasher several more times to clean off the soap. (Enough said). The second general use for Dawn dish soap is as a great hand cleaner. I use a drop of this stuff, especially once I'm done cleaning the kitchen to dissolve kitchen grease off of my hand. You'll also routinely find bottles of this stuff in machine shops so mechanics can get the grease off of their hands. Speaking of machines, you can use this to clean your car. Drop about 2-3 Tbls in a bucket of hose water and wipe down the exterior of your car with the suds and water. It's important to immediately wash off the car with the hose to get the soap off. As a bonus go grab some car wax and apply that as directed by that product. (Added note, if you want to clean your car like this at home, I'd recommend getting a car sham, a cloth for drying your car off, to avoid water stains).

I usena different color Dawn for washing dishes. The blue Dawm is what I use for tough stains..I accidently got marinara sauce om a light pink shirt and a pair of denim shorts. I tried stain remover and a few drop of laundry soap. The stains didn't come out. I used a few drops of tjis and POOF!!! This made a HUGE difference!!.The stains came out so.mych easier and my shirt and shorts look like i never got sauce on them..This also works for getting spaghetti sauce out of my Tupperware containers. This works better on tough stains than anything else i used.

You can't beat dawn for grease cutting, but I am really disappointed that they changed the scent. We area really sensitive to fragrances and the new scent is so much more aromatic in a bad way. The old scent smelled like soap, the new is a flowery flavor and it bothers me so much. I still keep it on hand for emergencies and grease clogs, but I wish they at least offered the original scent for those of us who loved it.

Why did they change the original scent? Now it smells like cheap perfume and lingers on my hands. Truly nasty. "If it ain't broke, don't break it!" Bring back the ORIGNAL scent or make it unscented. My friends told me this had happened, but I shrugged it off like, come on, how bad can it be? Then I FAFOd.

I don't recall having troubles controlling the grease on my dishes after washing them until a out 4 months ago. I've used thi product for years, I do nothing differently today than 5 years ago, yet my dishes remain greasy. I am having to put bleach in my dish water to to cut the grease. If you already add bleach to your dish water, irregardless of brand of soap you use, then this is a great product. I just want something that cuts the grease like it used to.
